WASHINGTON -- They've marched in the streets, demonstrated on college campuses and held "teach-ins" to educate people about their cause.
But who knew?
They are the supporters of a possible U.S. war against Iraq. And their activities, so far, have been much fewer and less visible than those of their antiwar counterparts.

Kuwait is a democracy. RIGHT.
Btw, fishing is going to be good this year. I need that low oil prices to do lots of trolling.
To: Fishing-guy
So I take it you support the drilling for oil in Alaska right?

Unless my eyes deceived me, I did see those huge oil pipe lines in Alaska.
Personally, I think we need to become energy self-sufficient, so we could get out of Middle East politics. I don't think any of them over there likes Americans.
Unfortunately, the solutions to energy self-sufficient are politically impossible in the country.
To: Fishing-guy
I will re word it to ask: And either a yes or a no will do.
So I take it you would allow oil exploration in the Arctic Refuge?

The fact remains that Kuwait has an elected parliament and is even poised to give women the vote someday soon (the measure was defeated only narrowly last time it came up).
That puts them at least five or six centuries ahead of most other Middle Eastern nations, in terms of development and human rights.
The presence of a monarch does not necessarily imply the absence of democracy.

Have you read the article today re: Al-Q's training tape and slaughtering of the school children in America? I'll ping you, if not.
And do NOT insult me or anyone on this forum by saying that's Al-Q and you're talking about Iraq. I'm not in the mood.

Sure. Living in a oil producing state, I believe that the technology is advanced enough to produce oil and protect the environment at the same time. It will be costly, but it is doable.
Now, if you are saying that you want to pump oil and forget about the environment. Then definitely not.
Actually, we really should leave the final decision to the people of Alaska.
However, like I said, politics will not allow arctic drilling. If I could recall correctly, didn't the governor of Floria got a waiver to disallow off-shore drilling in Floria from his younger brother?
To: hellinahandcart
There's no other EFFECTIVE alternative, sometimes, and this is one of those time. The only thing that's going to work on some of our enemies is war and lots of it. No false peaces, no delays giving the other side time to better marshall their forces. No compromises with the devil in order to make our so-called allies "feel" good. I am not in anybody's wildest imagination AGAINST going to war. Quite the opposite in this case.
I just hate the media and their obvious connotations and was venting ever so slightly.

more like democrat rats did it after yet another Filibuster.
By a vote of 46 to 54, senators not only failed to overcome a Democratic-led filibuster, but also fell short of mustering the 51 votes needed to argue that the majority of the Senate supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

one of the "problems" that we as conservatives "suffer" is that we, unlike Leftists, have a very limited interest in subsuming our individual wills and intellects to that of the herd.
It makes it difficult for us to coalesce and demonstrate the way they do, but it also makes us what we are: Conservatives.
