Dereliction of Duty

Patterson, Colonel Robert

From the officer entrusted with our nation's nuclear codes: proof that Bill Clinton cared little for national security and put every American in mortal danger.

When he was tapped to accompany President Clinton and carry the nuclear "football" that contains the top-secret codes the President needs in case of nuclear war, Colonel Robert "Buzz" Patterson was proud and grateful. He had already put his life on the line for his country many times as he flew combat missions over the Persian Gulf and Bosnia, and he was honored to take on this new and awesome responsibility.

But when he entered the Clinton White House, his gratitude and awe soon gave way to shock, revulsion, and sorrow - as he saw first-hand the cavalier and self-serving way Slick Willie and his henchmen went about the business of running the country. In Dereliction of Duty: An Eyewitness Account of How Bill Clinton Compromised America's National Security, Patterson tells the whole story. Day in and day out in the Clinton White House, he witnessed the President's contempt for the military, his indifference to important issues except insofar as they served his own political or personal purposes, and his reduction of the Office of the Presidency to a playground for his own ambition and thirst for sordid perks.

Patterson not only had numerous opportunities to see Clinton's irresponsibility and neglect of his duties: he also witnessed Hillary's furious, profane rages and relentless shifting of blame to subordinates; the general disdain of Clinton staffers toward the military; and much more. The Clinton White House more closely resembled a college fraternity house than the seat of government of the most powerful nation on earth - and it all led, Patterson argues compellingly, to our armed forces and intelligence services falling into such a demoralized, unprepared state that a disaster was just waiting to happen. That disaster happened on September 11, 2001.

Just when you thought you'd heard it all about Clinton.

Why the biggest security risk in the Clinton White House was the Slick One himself (plus details of the day he lost his copy of top-secret nuclear codes!)

How Slick Willie lost a crucial chance to strike strategic targets in Iraq because he wouldn't let his golf game be interrupted long enough to examine the situation and give the necessary orders

The day the President neglected to change the country's top secret nuclear codes: he was too distracted by the Monica Lewinsky story breaking in the Washington Post

Osama bin Laden: how he came close to being caught on Clinton's watch - except that the President hesitated too long in deciding to give the order

Clinton's dishonesty: how it extended to everything from his golf game to his extramarital affairs and - most ominously of all - to his priorities as president and his concern for our national security

Military personnel: forbidden to wear their uniforms inside the White House - by order of Hillary Clinton!

What Clinton finally did to lose virtually all the faith and trust that military men had placed in him

Clinton's cynicism: how he was able to turn on grief when needed to gain political points - and turn it off just as quickly

The subtle and not-so-subtle racism on display regularly among Clinton staffers

Hillary: "Harsh, difficult, and unpredictable" - and more about why administration officials fled from their desks and scurried into hiding places to avoid having to deal with her

How the Clintons spent more than $15,000 of the taxpayers' money to airlift Chelsea's forgotten backpack of books to their vacation spot in the Virgin Islands

Slick Willie's mood swings: with Hillary around, it was fruit, veggie plates, and ever-so-correct behavior. When she was gone? Booze, babes and barbecue

A Whitewater smoking gun? The mysterious file box that was Hillary's most important - and most closely watched - piece of luggage

How Clinton revealed his ignorance of and contempt for the military in ways that any military officer would notice

The direct correlation between Clinton's political trouble at home and his trips abroad - which cost American taxpayers half a billion dollars

Air Force One: how Slick Willie tried to turn it into a sexual playground (behaving in a manner that would have landed him in the brig if he had been a military man)

How the Clinton White House neglected basic understandings of military and defense policy - and compounded this ignorance with arrogance toward the men in uniform

Why Clinton policy in Somalia was a clear recipe for disaster

Clinton's response to terrorist attacks throughout his administration: lots of talk and little action

The appalling details of the day Slick Willie gave the Secret Service the slip and left the man holding the nuclear football to walk back to the White House alone

How Hillary revealed her basic ignorance of the nature and parameters of the United Nations mission in Bosnia that she was helping to oversee

When President Clinton met Colonel Patterson's wife - and eyed her as if he were in a singles bar

The shocking reason why Clinton had to discontinue his jogging regimen

Inside the Clinton White House: why it seemed disorganized and highly undisciplined to military men and career government service officers

The bold-faced and outrageous lie that Clinton repeated over 130 times during his 1996 campaign for reelection

How the Clinton administration time and time again attempted to cover up the shortcomings of its policies, rather than deal with them squarely and correct them

The high Clinton administration official who admitted, "It was very clear to me right away that we were making this up as we went along"

Patterson explains that he wrote Dereliction of Duty not to attack Bill Clinton, but out of his sense of responsibility as a military man to serve the common good. "And I know," explains Patterson, "that the greater good was demonstrably not served by President Clinton and his administration, which put personal wants and needs ahead of the national interest." That makes this book more important than just a record of Clinton's misdeeds: it is essential reading for every patriot who wants to do his part to prevent such a debased character from ever occupying the Oval Office again.

The cover of the book should be a picture of all the Democrats standing with Clinktoon at the "pep rally" after the impeachment.

Liberals will of course say that Colonel Patterson is lying. One response is a suggestion that people read Colonel Patterson's book and then Gary Aldrich's book "Unlimited Access." When you have multiple unconnected people giving the same general description of the president, it adds credibility.

It should be a great companion book to "Unlimited Access"!

One book on this could be discredited. But there are how many published basically saying the same thing from a diferent perspective.

The problem is, how to get this to the general public in a big way. Mainstream media, I don't think they will touch this.

The Hillary file box is interisting. Wonder where it is now?

I believe everything here except this:

"When President Clinton met Colonel Patterson's wife - and eyed her as if he were in a singles bar "

C'mon, we are talking about Bubba here. I find this easy to believe.

There was a very famous poster here who would gives clues in riddles -(it's driving me nuts that I can't remember his name)about Clinton's behavior in '98 and '99 - and he often spoke of the "turtle" - who I believe was the guy carrying the codes to the nukes.

"quidich" or something close to that, wasn't it? It's on the proverbial tongue tip.

I just got this Letter that was sent to the German Government by e-mail. If it is true... BRAVO for this person who wrote it. Deepest sympathies to them for the Father they never grew up with, and deepest thanks and appreciation for "their" collective sacrifice. If for some reason this e-mail isn't true.. it still reflects the "TRUTH" that many American families DID endure.

It is my understanding that the author of this e-mail wanted it spread around. I've done my part.. feel free to disperse this e-mail everywhere.

FRegards, Vets

Subject: E-mail to the German Government

Wow! This is a letter that was sent to the German, French, and Belgium governments, via their web sites, by an Oklahoma City resident. It pretty much puts this current world situation into perspective.

Subject: Your E-mail to the German Government

Dear Terry Barrett,

Thanks for your interest in the German Government website. Your e-mail to the German Government was received on 10 February 2003 at 10:34 PM and has been passed on to the appropriate parties for processing.

You wrote:
Subject: To the People of Germany, France and Belgium

I was eleven days old when my father died. He never got to see me. He didn't even know that I had been born. My widowed, single mother struggled her entire life to raise me and an older brother. Why am I telling you all this? Because these facts give me what I believe is the unique right to say "SHAME on each of you!"

During World War II, my father left forever the peaceful and secluded safety of rural America to travel to countries which he personally had never seen, and which he knew very little about. He did so because the governments of France, Belgium and Germany had for years refused to place themselves in danger, or their own financial comforts at risk, in any kind of determined effort to stop a wild-eyed dictator from harming others. Did the people of your countries know that this dictator was capable of great horrors and destruction? Without a doubt, they did. Why did they fail to act? Because some of them convinced themselves that, if the problem was ignored, put aside for just a little longer or just appeased for as long as it took, perhaps it would go wway. Others did so because they were selfish and self-centered; they prayed that, while many would certainly not be so fortunate, they would personally escape harm.

Why did my father and hundreds of thousands of other young Americans willingly place themselves in danger to help you out of the mess you got yourselves into? Because he and they knew that a ruthless dictator who harms some people in some part of the world is a threat to all of the people, throughout the world. My father first fought in France for the liberation of the French people. His unit was then sent to Belgium, where he fought for that country's liberation.

In Early November of 1944, his unit entered Germany, to help save the >Germans from themselves. On November 16, 1944, my father paid the ultimate price for the freedom of the peoples of each of your countries, being killed in action in the Huertgen Forrest in Southern Germany. He was buried in Belgium, which I am, for the first time in my life, ashamed to say.

America has asked you for very little in return for the sacrifices of so many of its young men and its resources.

As a matter of fact, those soldiers who survived, and all of those Americans who sacrificed in other ways at home, spent most of their remaining days contributing a good part of their wealth in rebuilding your countries, providing other economic aid and assisting you during the Cold War.

What better friends could anyone ask for?

Today, America has been attacked by terrorists who promise that more is to come. And in Iraq there once again has arisen a wild-eyed dictator, which America believes will assist terrorists in their effort to destroy America.

America has asked for your support in stopping this dictator before he can spread his carnage to other countries, including yours. You refuse, not because the dictator does not need to be dealt with, but because it would not be in your best political or financial interests to do so. You want to wait and pray that the problem will go away. You are being self-centered again. With friends like you, we would need few enemies. So we will, again, handle the job ourselves.

You have either forgotten or you do not sufficiently appreciate the hardships and sacrifices that my father, my mother, and thousands upon thousands of other young American men and women endured so that you can live as free and prosperous people today.

I can assure you, however, that I and the other members of my family, and the members of thousands and thousands of other American families, will most certainly remember your shameful denial of our country's request for your assistance.

Oh, you mean like the kind of disdain they had when they tried to steal the absentte ballot from every U.S. Serviceman and Woman during the 2000 Presidential elections?

This is too good. Thanks.

He was out jogging one day and saw a prostitute. "How much?" he yelled. "$100" she replied. He countered "I'm the President. I'll give you $20". "No way" she replied. Later Hillary got suspicious and decided to go jogging with Bill. On the way, they passed by the prostitute who yelled "See what you get for $20!".

I believe the poster's name was Quidam. His posts were very obscure yet detailed about the Clinton presidency. That poster has fallen off the face of the earth like Deep Throat.
