I hope he says, "You all heard two weeks ago of the capture of Al Qaeda's operations chief. What you didn't hear was news of the subsequent capture of Osama Bin Laden. We've also neglected to mention Saddam's assassination...and we'll be annexing Canada next week."

*wink*

the announcement will be post action

That makes sense. It could avoid unleashing any terrorist cells in the U.S. who are set to go off at first light.

If this is true I wish a pox on the house of Bush. He will go down in history as an appeaser on the level with Chamberlain. In the future, "last resolution," and "one more chance" will occupy the same level of infamy as the phrase, "peace of our time." The sovereignty of the United States and the very safety and security of our nation can not be subject to danger from a powerless organization like the UN. Bush must act.

From Drudge:

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX WED MARCH 05, 2003 18:31:52 ET XXXXX

BUSH MAKES THE CALL

**Exclusive**

President Bush on Wednesday night was to make the ultimate call whether to strike and invade Iraq with military force, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A top White House source offered few details, but did reveal the president would make a "defining decision" by morning.

The news comes just hours after Bush discussed top secret battle plans at the White House with his national security team and Army Gen. Tommy Franks, the man who would lead American forces in Iraq.

Military officials said the president had been told that an attack against Iraq could be carried out within the next several days, the NEW YORK TIMES is reporting on Thursday.

Plans for a major speech on Iraq next week by the president were under review. Bush might give Saddam a very short time period to disarm completely, perhaps as little as 72 hours, before military action.

Agreed. When the bombs start to fall, he won't have to ask for time. He will get it. Period. Either this is one last broadcast to the American people about his intentions, or, he *MAY* be announcing that we have UBL in custody...

Wouldn't that be a hoot? GWB asks for time, no one but FOX gives it to him, and he announces that we have UBL. HAHAHA! Screw you CNN!

No, absolutely not, I am putting my foot down! We are not starting this war, which I have been reading about for so many months, while I am away camping at Big Bend National Park for spring break, far from not only the internet, but even TV. Sorry guys, I will give the President a call later, this schedule just won't work. If I have to listen to this on my car radio on some crappy El Paso radio station there is going to be serious trouble.

Time is imminent is true. I didn't say anything before, but I will now.

One of my best friend's brother was called on Friday to get his stuff together because they were shipping out on Monday. But they didn't ship out. They flew. Why? And I quote: 'There isn't enough time to wait for a ship'.

He left on Monday.

I do believe that this announcement is a form of psy-ops. It goes well with the announcement that we'll be dropping 3,000 bombs on Iraq in 48 hours - more bombs than were used in the entire war of 1991. Also, I'm hoping that in the next few days we'll be capturing more of KSM's Al Quaeda friends. The combination of the suggested imminence of a devastating attack and the collapse of Al Quaeda might precipitate a coup against Hussein. Then the new leaders of Iraq can invite U.S. troops in to the country for the purpose of being shown where all the bio-chem weapons are. Some wishful thinking on my part, I know, but it's what I'm praying for.

I got the following in yesterday's email:

Hello my fellow friends,

The time has come to say a brief farewell as I embark on a new life experience. Being deployed and far away from one's loved ones and friends is very difficult. I am prepared physically, but it is the emotional and psychological aspect of being away from home that is the killer. I do not know how long I will be away or where I will end up. My orders are for one year (maybe less, maybe more) in a hot, humid and sandy environment (can't reveal any more than that at this point). May God be with you all! Take care! (By a Captain we know)

I have not known so many people to actually know someone who is going since 'Nam ;(
