Oop, in post 38, my response. I thought you meant before the trial. I was not thinking in terms of Jahi Turner.

He was involved in that fiasco. People openly wondered why Garcia of all people would pop up or the other one for that matter. San Diego is such a very small town, apparently everybody knows everybody else. Hmmmmm. I feel a song coming on....

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

Thanks Jaded..That's exactly it..the leak. I think you're right..everyone knows everyone..and there was politics involved in some of it. it seems as though his efforts in search coordinations is awesome. Can't complain there.

I think everyone should question that person's intentions. He's got a problem.

Laci was reported missing on the evening of Dec 24th, the police was called, the police arrived, Scott Peterson would not let LE inside the Covena residence on the evening of Dec 24th. According to Modesto Bee:

BEE STAFF WRITER (Originally published Dec. 27, 2002) The 3-day-old search for a missing Modesto woman ended without success Thursday just as police posted yellow crime-scene tape around her house and served a search warrant. Officers arrived with the warrant at 7:45 p.m. at Laci Denise Peterson's house in the La Loma neighborhood. FBI crime- scene investigators joined police inside the home.

LE probably were unable to get a warrant the night of Dec. 24th and the 25th due to the holidays.

But the man who owned the boat previously was asked to look at it recently and say if anything was different. I saw this man interviewed, and he said one thing that was different was that there was raw, unused, cement powder in the boat. He made it clear that he meant what comes out of the bag BEFORE you mix it with water and turn it into concrete.

Scott's homemade anchors might leave little pulverized bits of finished concrete--not that raw powder.

There are other matters, too. Such as the fact that Scott was STILL calling his girlfriend, just days after Laci went missing--and he still played the part of the single guy. IOW, no mention of his missing pregnant wife. If your wife, pregnant with your first child, were missing, could you call up someone and chat, pretending that the missing wife and child had never existed?

I saw clips of Scott's interview with Diane Sawyer. After a while, she got around to saying, "And the baby! Your first child, a son, how did that make you feel?" He responded, "That was... that was hard..."

During this same Sawyer interview, Scott clearly spoke of Laci in past tense. How does he know?

He also was asked about something large, wrapped in a blue tarp, which he was seen loading into his truck on the morning of the 24th. He responded that it was the large umbrellas they kept on their patio. They have a pool. He said he was taking them to his warehouse to get them in out of the rain, which had been falling steadily for about 2 weeks. But I have read a couple times now that the police seized these umbrellas--from the house. How did they get back to the house so soon?

Scott says he told his wife about his affair, and that it didn't cause any major problems in their marriage. Okay.

Scott very clearly appeared to be camera-shy in the first couple weeks after Laci disappeared. He wore a hat pulled kind of low, walked fast when on camera, refused to be interviewed on camera. He went around with the sides of his head shaved; none of his hair could really be seen, what with the ever-present hat and the shaved sides. He did not sit with the rest of the family at the New Year's Eve vigil held one week after Laci disappeared. But he was filmed at that vigil, laughing hard.

The very same day his girlfriend, Amber, came to public light, the hat was removed, and he is no longer wearing a hat publicly in 99% of the films of him. Furthermore, all of a sudden, Scott was talking directly to the media. No reason to hide out any more?

He wrote a note to put in the search center for Laci. It has been photographed and shown to the public. It says, to paraphrase: " Your search efforts are appreciated. I talk to Laci all the time. Early this morning, I felt she could hear me. She thanks you.--Laci's Husband."

No one's opinion will matter in the courtroom--except those of the people in the Stanislaus Co. jury district. And Scott (he and/or his family have hired a PR person) has just as much chance to put out stuff in his favor, as others have to put out stuff against him. Trust me, private citizen though he is, anything he cares to generate, having to do with this story, will be printed. The media is eager to print anything and everything about it, as you have already noted.

For all we know, they could have phone calls that place him somewhere he denies being, at a certain time--such as, at his house.

For all we know, they could have bank records that show him paying a goodly sum of money to some guy, right after Laci disappeared.

They probably have gotten his checkbook and credit card records. Those things can tell a good deal about a person, not to mention their computer records. Why do you think we are all so irritated when some merchant or telemarketer tries to get into such private things?

Ya. Just kidding. In 2000, San Diego was ranked the 7th largest city in the US.

LOL Then you didn't see the news bit where he got off a plane and a reporter in the crowd shouted, "Why did you kill your wife?"

For all we know...

And that is the heart of it. Despite all the speculation, what we truly know is very little.

I'm not sure the MPD knows much more. I hope they do.

Well, as a jury member with only those two choices, I would have to pick "not true".

Who said that?

I went to the site and read the entire article. It mentioned nothing about his staying at the site and using sonar.

Apparently there is anoter article which describes in greater detail what he did. If there is then I am unaware of it.

Agree. Certainly "not proven".

Maybe in this topic...we should confine the size of the community to the people that are always active in disappearance investigations within that community.. In that case, it would be a very small world..

There's a link to video stream on that same site. You can see Garcia and his engineer friend with the sonar equipment as well as shots of the cement and more.

Apparently there is anoter article which describes in greater detail what he did.

It's actually a visual description from a FReeper. Good as gold. While it's possible the "device" is not a sonar, it is quite clear they did not pick up and leave without investigating further.

I don't think the article indicated that he didn't do anything, did it?

OK, I watched the video and saw him doing something.
