'Patriots' Rally for America in Nation's Capital

WASHINGTON (GOPUSA News) -- A few hundred people braved the damp cold in Washington on Saturday to wave American flags and cheer speakers on the National Mall. The "Patriot's Rally for America" was organized by the D.C. Chapter of The Free Republic, a conservative activist group.

The program opened with a recitation of the Red Skelton version of the Pledge of Allegiance by Frank Davis, Capt. USNR (Ret.). It was particularly poignant since the 9th Circuit Court's ban on "under God" in the Pledge was not overturned last week.

The first speaker, UPI columnist John Armor, reminded those in attendance that it was the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I. That disarmament treaty was supposed to prevent remilitarization of Germany. But the League of Nation's failure to enforce the treaty led to the rise of the Nazi menace that cost 70 million lives during World War II, a parallel he drew with the current situation with Iraq.

Great post. This guy was on the Today show this AM and had nothing good to say about Saddam. Of course "Jihad Joe" Biden was on the panel and did everything but blow Hussein kisses. All this while saying "now I will support the President in a war..."

Sounds good, but where is the coverage of the 10,000 in Cleveland, OH or the 10,000 in Houston, TX, or the 8,000 in San Antonio.  All these occurred over the weekend and I haven't heard anything from the major news networks.

I watched Fox news this afternoon and they did mention that there were pro-Bush protesters rallying this weekend. It was only a few min. long, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye :>)

Yep-he is truly a nice person. He knows Kristinn and is familiar with FR. Went to his website to sign a petition-GOPUSA.com-and discovered that he has featured our rally as the front article. He has just received a press pass to the WH to question Ari, which is why we ran into each other at the WH, and was very ready to participate in the press mtgs there-very kewl. I expect he and Les Kinsolving will keep things very interesting in that cramped room.
