Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.
Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.
Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.
The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.
Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.
EAGLES UP !!!

. . missed ya out there...we had the VETS On-Stage this time... I was up there with them. Trueblackman did a great job of speaking for us. I stood with four young service people (three men and one woman). They were activated Air Guardsman from Madison, Wisconson, and were waiting to fly out of Andrews. All I could do was wish them Godspeed. They made me feel proud to be an American.

"it will run from 1:05 to 2:30" C-SPAN's schedule said the next event started at 3:55, if I'm not mistaken, so that gives the Patriots Rally 1:05PM EST-3:55PM EST, about two hours and 50 minutes.

Thanks for your input. We busted our butts putting the word out about this rally. We contacted many groups, especially activist groups and our friends in the conservative community.
Thousands of people were informed about this rally in person by us through leafletting. Thousands of e-mails were sent. Everyone who came to FR in the last two weeks could learn about it. Millions heard about it on Hannity's radio show. Others heard about it on about a dozen other radio shows. If folks didn't come out, it's not because of a lack of effort on our part.
What we don't have is full-time paid activists and big money behind us. We don't have free bus rides, a bag lunch and a t-shirt to offer people. We don't have a decades-long history of continuous protesting like the left does. Nor do we get fawning pre-rally publicity in the local media like the left-wing demonstrations that alerts the general populace to their actions.
Also, unlike other markets, radio stations in this area don't want to risk alienating their liberal listeners by getting behind a controversial subject like Iraq in this liberal government town.
Conservatives come to D.C. once-a-year for the March For Life and then stay home the other 364 days. Those of us who stay active in the streets here the other days are few in numbers.
I respect you for the price you've paid, but as far as this rally goes--you're way off in your criticism.

Thank You for all the leadership you provide!!
Our "little town rally" was an explosion of pent-up need to demonstrate. We can't all come there, but we see you and wanted to be included in your movement!!
Please add our numbers to yours as a total expression of American Patriots!

Special thanks to Sean Hannity. Many people travelled great distances to attend because of his mentions of the rally on his radio show when Bob Dornan was a guest on Tuesday. I went around the crowd and cavassed people. Sean's help produced groups (mostly families, but there was a group of USN/USMC spouses/friends) from as far away as Detroit, Chicago, New York, and others I just can't get out of tired brain cells this afternoon.
Was an eight hour trip home because I had to stop for rest twice. Long day yesterday.

WOW...the Washington Compost actually printed a quote from an Iraqi dissident....yeah, I broke my own boycott in the hopes of seeing some pics.
It must be really cold in h#ll today. My prayers to all who've suffered under that bloodthirsty psychopath....and for this article to be the beginning of a trend to allow the Iraqi people to be heard. Finally.
If the rabid dictator lovers of the world allow the allies to free the people of Iraq, perhaps the murders of Shalal's two brothers will not have been entirely in vain.

It becomes a massive event when folks like you drop what you're doing and come to D.C. We had the venue, we put up most of the money, we got the speakers, we publicized it, we did everything we could except drive up to your house and pick you up.
BTW, as was mentioned, thousands of people in other parts of the country participated in rallies this weekend. None that I'm aware of were within a few hours drive from D.C., so we weren't duplicating other's efforts.
When those who stayed home yesterday decide our troops deserve a personal sacrifice to take a day to make a public show of support for them, then the rallies will be massive.

Thanks for your comments. Where were you yesterday?
We plan all of our rallies to be big events and put our hearts, money, time and plenty of sweat into our efforts. You speak without knowing what we have done, what groups we have hooked up with, how much effort we put into getting news of the rallies out in the streets, press, radio and TV.
If everyone who was waiting for the BIG rally would just get out, bring friends and family, and show up at a rally, I imagine the numbers would be tremendous.
By the way, Rush was contacted more than once.

You are right. The schedule on the screen shows the Patriot's rally from 1:05 to 3:55. They can't make up their mind. Did they just cut-out Congressman Billy Bob?

Speaking of pics, I found one of the Washington Rally:
Bruce Tackett of Mahopac, N.Y., holds a placard and American flag displaying his support of President Bush (news - web sites) and his stand against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) during a gathering near the Washington Monument billed as The Patriots Rally for America, in Washington, Saturday, March 1, 2003. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)
Kudos, FReepers, for having the gumption to stand in the freezing cold to support President Bush's policy on Iraq!
