PATRIOTS RALLY FOR AMERICA IV ON C-SPAN TODAY, 1:05 P.M. EST, 3/02/03

Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.

Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.

Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.

The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.

Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

What Kristinn said. Kristinn -- I'd add also that there were LOTS more college republicans this time. It's been slow but we do have that coaltion going. I went *out* of my way to get all of their email addresses too. I gave them mine. They want to invite us to a rally they're doing in the next couple of months, they don't know when yet. I'm all for coalition building with people who, ahem, actually do work and show up.

You said it, Race! I'm always amazed that we get little or NO support from Rush, Sean, et al. Media attention is the key.

I've seen several posts which said that Sean did mention the rally several times. Have you tried to contact Glenn Beck? He also planned two rallies for this weekend; Saturday in San Antonio, and today in Cleveland.

Well, of course, half of me wants to kick myself: what a *great* idea -- why didn't I think of it? Then the other half of me is so tempted by jmstein7's offer to actually ATTEND a rally if he knew ahead of time it was going to be big -- that's the kind of commitment that brings smiles to my face. But I have reflected upon his point and concluded:

I COULDN'T DISAGREE MORE!! We should go for very small rallies. This one was too big. We should go for much smaller rallies.

You are right, Dianna! I forgot that Sean Hannity had indeed given this rally several plugs this week during his radio show. Geesh, I myself pinged others to this fact... I completely forgot! Thanks for the reminder.

Nope -- she's in transit back to Indianapolis. Her husband's filming CSPAN. I'm not sure we've put together an after-action, but when we do, I'll point it out.

LOL, I don't see why you are being so ungracious to our VERY SMART freepers who have come up with the BRILLIANT idea of HAVING BIGGER RALLIES.

Sigh, if only we had thought of that sooner. Thank goodness there are intelligent people like that out there somewhere -- I've never seen 'em at our rallies but they're out their in their warm living rooms somewhere supporting our troops by imparting these BRILLIANT ideas to us.

It's truly heart-warming. Although the other half of me, upon reflection, has trouble taking it seriously. It does cry out for some good, old-fashioned mocking.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we should have coordinated all the rallies. Glenn's rallies were well-attended and I believe he would have added the DC rally to his agenda had he been asked. I personally think that the DC rally was a huge success considering the lack of media coverage and the CSPAN recording. At least people can hear some intelligent language from the speakers that were there. The Iraqis were powerful and deserve to be heard more widely. Thanks for all the hard work, DC Chapter.

LOL, yeah, "D-CA"!! Corrected in subsequent captions. He's going to be @#$#@-ed. That's high slander.

Sigh, CSPAN never gets the labels right. They have "DC Chapter of FreeRepublic.com" and they have the FR website under the MC's appearance, but then they do www.dcchapter.com. It's confusing. People can *write* to the DC Chapter -- that's the mailing address. But the group is the chapter of FR.

Still, I'm loathe to complain about any errors. CSPAN's camera crew did a good job here.

Yes, and he's great!! He got 7500 at a rally in San Antonio yesterday! I haven't heard about Cleveland yet. I don't know where he broadcasts out of but I started getting his program soon after 911.
