My son and I stood alone in Support of Our Troops today at the corner of Hwy 20 and 101 on the rural Oregon Coast.
Around us were 20 or so Anti-war protestors.
They all left at 1pm and we stayed out until 2pm
He used his wheelchair to hold 5 large signs Support Our Troops. A billboard on wheels if you will.
He is very well liked in our community so amongst the honkers were allot of "hey Chris" yells and waving.
A young boy kept going from corner to corner frantic on his bike.
He finally came up to me with tears in his eyes, crying with lips shaking and ask "Have you seen my MOM?" He continued she is wearing a black mask.
I told him that the protesters had all left about 40min ago but a few were over in that parking lot go ask them and if you need help come back and see me I will help you.
After a few minutes talking to the people I directed him to he returned some what composed and optimistic as he rode by he told me they said she may have gone to "Oceana" (the local health store/hang out).
We packed up at 2pm glad that we could represent part of our community and as I was driving away saw him coming back as I passed down the Hwy.
She was the only one out wearing a black ski mask and filthy clothes.
I hope he was ok. It just goes to show over and over again the lack of common sense these lefties have.
Shame on her for being so into her crowd that she forgot about her Kid!

The local city patrol officer came by and gave us a quiet thumbs up along with people rolling down window to say "Thank You".
We felt so proud to be Americans today.

Your own personal Elian Gonzalez- and you gave him back.

Sounds like the mother is loony even for a loon. The son will probably grow up to be a conservative.

You should have told the cop she left her kid!!
Unless, her kid, you said he was on his bike? Unless hher kid pedaled there himself, and she knew it, and actually never left him at all.

He was visbly upset, crying.
I wondered if he was scared something happened to her since she was so dramatic to wear a black ski mask.
Of all the times not to have my cell handy. I would of let him use it to call for help.
I did make it clear to him that I was their for him if he needed assistance.

Hey, I'd be backpedaling and crying to myself also, if I knew my Mom had demonstrated for Saddam Hussein.
Hope the young lad made it home fine, though.

How did things go in the valley?
I need to go check our state board to see any reports from other Oregonians.

You didn't offer to take the boy home?????? I would have. That's like kidnapping, the mom would go to the (fascist dissent-suppressing) police and get you in trouble. (comments in parenthesis in this post are sarcastic)
