An hour ago on C-SPAN's "Book TV" uber-puke Eric Alterman went on a semi-coherent tirade about Free Republic.
While in the process of flacking his book..."The Myth of Liberal Bias" (or sumpin like that), he claimed that, during the Florida recount, the saint-like members of this forum posted the phone numbers and home addresses of the Florida Supremes for the expressed purpose of harassment and/or "whatever". The "whatever" was obviously the suggestion of violence.
He also said Free Republic was repsonsible for the flood of Republican activists who descended on the state and therefore was responsible for the Bush presidency.
This is one powerful place, Gumbas. Congratulate yourselves...the left-wing bows to your awesome strength.
The source of his tirade seemed to be his book which might be worth checking out. Just figure out how to do it without actually paying money for it.
Another fact he flung at his tiny, badly-dressed book store audience, was that people came to Free Republic and stayed for 5+ hours, making us an unbeatable force since Liberals suffer from ADD and can't stay with anything longer than the average bowel movement. (I paraphrased that last bit)

LYING!

I'll take that as a compliment to FR! I wish I could have been there. What a sight that was watching them storm the doors. Thanks to all the patriots that were there that day.

Even with librarians buying liberal books, they seldom make the NYT's top 10. This book will also be reviewed in every newspaper. Liberals get all the breaks and still no one wants to read their garbage...
You can be pretty sure every lefty butch librarian in the country has made sure your tax dollars went to buy at least one copy. And you can be equally sure nobody else in town is rushing over there to check it out.

Re: #20, I'm so glad you posted the link for that! I originally read it when it was first posted and found it fascinating.

Good evening, Senator, I got a good laugh from your comment. I had an opposite problem with bullies in the school yard. I was the tallest kid in my class. Therefore, when the class ahead of mine wanted to put my class in its place, the methodology was to have their tough guy take a go at me.
I still remember with bemusement a dust-'em-up with Clark Grimes in the playground of Roland Park Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland. As I recall, it was a draw.

Latest book(let), "to Restore Trust in America."

I heard this egomaniac on the Laura Ingraham (sigh) radio show yesterday. He basicaly said that he was the only one that knew anything about media bias, and Goldberg and Coulter were all wet.
His statement that Jennings and Brokaw were conservative floored me until I came to understand that this idiot has no idea what conservatism is.

You were part of an historic moment. (FreeRepublic is the future.)
Oh yeah, and thanks. You did good...
As one who (with hundreds of others) FReeped the Broward County Recount on a rainy November, 2000 weekend, I consider Eric's condemnation a great honor. 27 posted on 03/01/2003 6:44 PM EST by clintonh8r

5+ hours, God I must be going nuts; I'm not even as dedicated to my job as I am to reading a posting on this damn forum. Screw it, great entertainment and I don't even have to know how to spell.

You helped make history. Did you think at the time that someday in the future, a stranger would be sitting on TV talking about your post? It was an exciting time for all of us. So many Freepers made history. What a cool site.
I am the one who posted the lengthy lists of Fax Numbers of relevant people in Florida - to include the Supreme Court's. I also set up the FReeper AutoFax Service. See this thread for example. Along with the fax numbers, several addresses of courthouses, county buildings and such were posted so that protesters would know where to go. I was heavily involved in Free Republic's efforts to counter Al Gore's illegal attempted coup. And I can state that I never saw anyone post the home addresses of the members of the Florida Supreme Court. Never! Eric Alterman is a bald-faced liar.

You're perfectly normal. Don't worry. Breathe deeply and think about conservative judges.

Somehow I missed this news on its first go 'round. Thanks for the report, Deb.

We descended in lotsa places, due to FR. Like South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA.
It worked, too!!

We are having some real Rat problems here because poll watchers doing their jobs made a serious effort this last election to keep the Rats honest (apparently a first in Arkansas, and they didn't like it. Now there is an anti-poll-watching bill on the table (HB1608) which it seems our REPUBLICAN governor, Huckabee, plans to sign. The irony is that had it not been for the pollwatchers in the last election the Rats probably would have gotten away with their efforts to keep the polls open later in one of the most Rat-infested counties in the state and Gov. Huckabee himself might no longer be governor.
