Open mike! Conservative voices need not apply? Some brave, open-minded NEIU students will attempt to speak up against the Iraqi Ba'ath Socialist Party parrot's nonsense.

Since the "open-minded" leftist shouts down any opposition, it might be nice if a few like-minded northwest side FReepers lent moral support in the audience.

And the Federal Plaza rally could make a good Freep opportunity for downtown Freepers.

Actually...I THINK I do. A friend of mine is a Light Bird in the USMC reserve. Where ? I don't know. I haven't been able to raise him in awhile. (He's also a US Marshal...I'm guessing one way or the other...he's busy ).

and I'm guessing the Marine Corp. would probably frown on their Marines getting involved, even passively. (If it's possible for a Marine to be passive)

Typical I have school on Wednesday so I won't be able to make it, but I'll berate my English professor instead (she is a antiwar nutcase) I made her look like a moron when I debated her in class about war. I had random people congratulating me and saying that I convinced them. Don't worry about grades either she is fair when it comes to grades (I had her before) she doesn't fail people or lower their grades on their politics.

She tried saying it was "ALL ABOUT OIL" which I responded "How come we didn't STEAL their oil in 91?". I love making liberals look stupid. I'd say a majority of the population at my school are pro war it is just the morons who get the attention.

I just carry around copies of this speech from 1998 and quote exerts from it, then ask the anti-war people what we should do about the baaaaaaaaaad warmonger who made it.

They nearly always scream it's an example of Dubya/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush I/etc.'s "blood for oil" and that the individual must be impeached for leading this country into such a racist action.

Then I explain to them that the speech was made by good ol' Slick Willie in Dec. '98, when he took it upon himself to lauch more cruise missle's at Iraq than the total number used in the entire Gulf War. They certainly COULD have supported Clinton's impeachment at the time, but they were too busy trying to lynch Ken Starr.

That usually shuts them up in a hurry, although they start switching to another subject ("Free Mumia!") and whine about that.

If someone needs to get FReeping out of their system, they could do both the NEIU FReep and the downtown FReep. Seems even the anti-USA types intend to gather at NEIU before they head downtown.

If you drive to NEIU, free on-street parking is sometimes available on Bryn Mawr alongside the cemetery. On campus, feed a meter or buy a $5 parking pass. One of the student work study jobs is write parking tickets for unauthorized cars on the campus, and they earn their tuition. With parking at NEIU, one could walk or take the bus to the Ravenswood terminal at Lawrence and Kedzie, and FReep downtown.

For the NEIU FReep, we mostly want to prevent the leftists from shouting down opposition voices at the open mike session. Maybe someone makes an emergency sign: "Only Fascists Prevent Free Speech." However, if someone might someone bring a digital camera, so we can photograph, post images, and publicly identify the NEIU Socialist Club's advertised "other speakers." There is one non-student anarchist in particular that I've seen before, but can't remember where. Perhaps at the post office. :)

Plans for March 5th from morning until night STUDENT ACTIONS - high schools and colleges START THE DAY AT MAJOR TRANSIT CENTERS Pass out armbands (either made of Duct Tape or black cloth) along with leaflets inviting people to join in and help stop this war!! Pick up locations for leaflets to be announced soon.

RUSH HOUR DEMO! 7:30am - 8:30am Hollywood & Sheridan & Lakeshore Drive Banners, Posters, Flags, leafleting, buttoning, YOU NAME IT! Come and be part of it! sponsored by Neighbors for Peace. We've got some HUGE signs that say NO WAR, and numerous flags, posters, etc. JUST SHOW UP!
