Give 'em hell Mr. M.
BTW...it's good to see you "up and about" the forum. Hope all is going well on your end. You had a lot of us worried there for a while.

Huge bummer. Mr. Rogers was the greatest.
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was pretty entertaining, even to an adult.
Sad day.

My teenage daughter broke the news to me, knowing how much I admire him. (When I was pregnant with her and very sick for a few weeks he was one of the only things I would turn on TV...he was so soothing it really comforted me.) As a child I adored Lady Aberlin especially! :) He truly left the world a much better place than he found it.

My roomate in college did an internship at PBS, and Mr. Rogers was one of her mentors. I met him on a couple of occasions when he was here. He was a kind and generous man. He had so much to teach the world. I am so sad that my children will not grow up with him as I did. Thank goodness for reruns. At least they will see him in that way. He was greatly loved and will be missed. Thanks for everything Fred, God's speed to you.

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives, and when he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" -- Henry Travers as Clarence Oddbody, Angel S2, in "It's A Wonderful Life"
He does indeed. This particular man leaves an awful hole in our hearts.
Fred McFeely Rogers

Goodbye, neighbor.
We'll miss you.

I can still remember watching Mr. Rogers as a little kid. He was one of the only things worth watching on government-funded television (along with "Sesame Street"). He will definitely be missed greatly.

Sorry about the repeat. I'm having a lot of trouble with my server this morning. Not really sure what's going on. My apologies.

Thanks, Mr. Rogers. I watched you as a child, and I loved you. Luckly, my parents loved me very much, and though I may have ended up the same without watching, on reflection maybe I wouldn't have. You were one in a million, and showing me that, I realize I could be one too. Thank you.

Anyone know who Mr. Roger's son is?
Once, in an interview when someone asked him what set him apart from pepole like Captain Kangaroo, he said "Well, I have a large selection of Butthole Surfer CDs."
His son is the lead singer.

I remember watching those early 15 minute pre PBS shows when I was in kindergarden around 1966, I loved the puppets. I think this was also my first exposure to jazz music. The background music was always a cool piano player and drummer on brushes, I think his name was Johnny Costa? I remember reading that he passed away a few years ago, very cool sound.
My wife cleaned Mr Rogers teeth a few times before we moved from Pittsburgh in 85. She always says he was the calmest, gentlest man she ever met, even at the Dentist office.
Thanks for being my Neighbor, Mr Rogers
P.S. I never met Jack Bogut, but tell him I had breakfast with him every weekday he was on from 1968 until I graduated from HS in 79. That guy used to really crack us up in the morning. I didn't know he is still on the air.
Peace, TS

Now I have to debate whether or not to tell my 4 year oldJMHO, but I don't think that it's necessary. A 4 year old still has a hard time distinguishing b/w reality and fantasy, throwing death into the equation, makes that even more difficult.
