This is what Ebert said in his latest review (on Gods and Generals):
"Here is a Civil War movie that Trent Lott might enjoy .... it waits 70 minutes before introducing the first of its two speaking roles for African Americans"

Funny that Ebert doesn't mention Robert KKK Byrd's role as a Confederate general in the movie.
Think he's biased?

Why is the left so racist? Why is it so simple-minded? They reduce everything to black and white, but still they claim to see all the shades of grey!

Zot is what occurs when a thread is struck by a bolt of lightning and pulled because it is flame-bait or troll material.
Check my profile, I've been here a while, I don't think this is Zot material. I think this is a good case of someone bringing an important bit of information to the table and seeking discussion.....

Wow, has Ebert always been this partisan or has he recently fallen off the deep end? I heard he gave the pro-death penalty "Life of David Gale" a zero rating. What a bitter man.

Just a quick quiz, who probably was more racist?
Robert E. Lee or Gen. Sheridan?
Stonewall Jackson or Sherman.
Longstreet or McClellan?
To: Oldie
No, Rog. Trust me on this. What Republicans want to see is you recreating Mr. Creosote's dinner scene from Python's Meaning of Life...for real.

Oh, I don't think he was looking for any deep, philosophical discourse on this... if he was he would also be battling a significant social dysfunction to jump into a conservative forum and post something like this immediately.

Here is a Civil War movie that Trent Lott might enjoy It's a funny line, something maybe Leno would use.
Trent Lott was/is an imbecile. He'll get zingers like that (and well deserved) for the rest of his life.

I don't understand why it isn't Byrd getting these jabs... a full-fledged, proud-as-hell-about-it member of the KKK???

Well, we all know the anwers. But while every Ivy league who knows that Sherman marched through Georgia, how many know that he was instrumental in conquering and sequestering the plains indians?

If you want to talk about the article, go ahead... what did you find untrue about it personally?
Free Republic is not again discussing liberally slanted material, but it is easy to be skeptical about the intent of a brand new poster when it is the first thing they submit.
