All that know about Texas comes from watching Dallas episodes with my mother. When I was there for basic training, I remember the temperature hitting 105. San Antonio was nice but HOT. It's funny that this thread even exists because I was wondering what Jones' views on the war were. I just knew it!

I have James Earl Jones Reads the Bible on 12 cassettes, but just last fall they came out with a CD version. I'm going to buy that, too. It's at Barnes & Noble, but I haven't looked around for other sources.

While I am talking about bible on cassette, Michael York is excellent reading the psalms. I would like to see James Earl Jones read the psalms, esp. psalm 23, 107 and 118. Rummy ought to have Jones record his voice and play it on loud speakers as the air assault begins.

its funny, but how an actor/actress presents themselves in public on social/political issues, really does affect they way I now view them on the little or big screen. I cannot stand to look at such celebraties as Glover, Sheen, Baldwins, Saranden (sp?), Maher, Asner, Farr, Clooney etc.

Perhaps it is because you can't lose yourself in a scene anymore, without having the overriding knowledge that they are simply acting.

Kinda like when they portray themselves as Americans.

Let's see, we've got Patricia Heaton, Ron Silver, Dennis Miller, Morgan Freeman, Jr., Delta Burke, Gerald McRainey, Bo Derek, James Earl Jones...

See, I knew the Conservatives in Tinseltown would start coming out of the closet sooner or later. This is fantastic!

Did you ever see "The Robe"? R.Burton was in it in a leading role; and he also did the voice-over at the beginning. His voice was 'magnificent'!

You're thinking of Anthony Hopkins, aren't you? Yeah, he has a great voice too! Leslie Howard did too. There are quite a lot of actors/actresses that did have great voices.

One of the greatest lines from a movie EVER came from "THE WIND AND THE LION" when Teddy Roosevelt was told that sending Destroyers into the region was "illegal" His answer?

"Why spoil the beauty of a thing will illegality?"

Greatest roles would have to include "The Great White Hope" in which he played the boxer Jack Johnson. THAT was drama AND he boxed.

>> Could someone please make a DVD of "Red October" with ahole edited out? <<

With modern technology, I've always toyed with the idea of digitally replacing Baldwin with Harrison Ford for a "special edition" of the first Jack Ryan movie.

But I wouldn't cut his scenes all together. He could be the commie political office on the Soviet ship. ;-)

they had to pick Darth Vader when it came to discussing the fact that he SUPPORTS President Bush with regards to Iraq.

Well...okay. BUT...if'n I was in a war, I think I'd want ol' Darth inside my tent whizzing out, rather than outside whizzing in.

And if DV could break us off a spare Star Destroyer or two, that'd be just peachy too.

Snidely
