Rip On Bush Protest
Music Message Board | 2/12/03 | n/a

Posted on 02/12/2003 4:04:42 PM PST by JustPiper

My daughter belongs to a very good website, but one problem the majority of the youth their have had their minds poisoned by their parents, media etc.

They are holding a protest that is completely UnAmerican and I was hoping maybe some Illinois Freepers may want to Freep.

From one of the young men read the following:

The buggest insult is they use a religious song to do this:

a nice little tune my english teacher of all people gave me

"bush's proposal for a revised national anthem"

sung to the tune of if your happy and you know it (hey you can't expecct him to come up with his own song. this is about the only song he(Bush) has the brain capacity to sing)

If you cannot find osama, bomb iraq

If the Markets are a drama, bomb iraq

IF the terrorists are frisky

pakistan is getting shifty

North korea is too risky, bomb iraq

If we have no allies with us, bomb iraq

if we think someone has dissed us, bomb iraq

so to hell with the inspections,

let's look tough for the elections

close your mind and take directions

bomb iraq

"it's Pre empitve, Non-aggression" bomb iraq

let's prevent the mass destruction bomb iraq

they've got weapons we cant see

well that's good enough for me

that is all the proof I need

bomb iraq

If you never got elected bomb iraq

if your mood is quite dejected bomb iraq

If you think saddam went mad

with the weapons that he had

and he tried to kill your daddy

bomb iraq

If your corporate fraud is growing, bomb iraq

if our ties to it are showing bomb iraq

if your politics are sleazy

and your college daughter's easy

and your hiding it makes youqueasy

bomb iraq

fall in line and follow orders, bomb iraq

for our might knows not our borders, bomb iraq

Disagree we'll call it treason

let's make war not love this season

even if we have no reason

bomb iraq

Here is more, details of their protest and less than patriotic views

Also I helped found a slightly radical group at my school aimed at opening peoples minds and of course make love not war and we are having a protest FRIDAY FEB 21ST IN LOMBARD AT 330 PM> at the corner of main and st charles.

if you can make it out there we will have a food not bombs tent, hot chocolate, games, street theatre, a radical drum corp and possibly dodge ball. it will be good fun and times for all, and hye there's free XXXX so how can you go wrong?

my final note is a piece of conceptual art I formulated to display at the protest

I am going to cordon off a little area leading up to a podium with a guest book and a sign over that saying something to the effect of "if you approve of bush's ar in iraq" or "If you love what bush is doing for our country" "sign here!!!". in the very front of this little section is a tray with some mudd. INf ront of that is an American flag and a copy of the constitution, bill of rights, and declaration of independance on a pristine white sheet on the ground you will have to step on to sign the book.

Get it? you have to trample the constittution and everything that means freedom to you in order to support this backroad bumpkin war mongoring fxxxtard of a president.

peace love and freedom to all

smartyr

It's been done before... contact your VFW and they have, in the past, sent some scrappy old codgers out to liberate the flag.

Quite a sight. Nobody interferes...

I've read someone post that there was a version of this song about the impeached president Clinton when he was bombing Kosovo during Monica's testimony. I haven't been able to find it yet, though (I don't have enough of a lyric sample to work from).

I did find this though: yourish.com

(excerpt)
If Osama is your hero, call jihad
If your GDP's near zero, call jihad
If your nation has no future and your wife won't let you smooch her
If your women have no rights then call jihad

It is hard to believe that anyone as totally ignorant and with such poor command of the English language feels qualified to question the brain capacity of President Bush ...... or even the local village idiot.

Sheesh! I have to wonder if this jerk would recognize the Consitution or the Declaration of Independence if he saw them. I feel sure that someone will have to read the titles to him so he'll know he has the right documents.

Was this posting on a "music" website? I've seen the same co-opting of other apolitical boards by the left (their temper tantrums are showing).

They don't seek genuine discourse on the issue (or "peace" for that matter; the next attack on American soil will result in more charges of "Bush knew" and they certainly are for Palestinian war).

This is exactly what I told my daughter when she asked me my thoughts

I told her with the way his grammar is (my kids have been homeschooled 11 years now)that I can see he's not educated. And being thats the case, I said this is the explanation for his ignorance. She is posting this link from FR on this message board. For any Freeper who missed it, it is the best case for War:

I like it when self avowed anarachists (as many in the anti-war movement are; they are also a part of the antiBush, antiGlobalism, and antiCapitalism crowds and have included those messages in their protests) talk about the constitution being violated.

Talk to anarchists (or anarchist-socialists, those who still want a social support system including subsidized healthcare, but no "government") and you'll quickly learn that they want to replace our constitionally described form of govenment (3 branches, etc). There was a DUh troll over here last week (the thread has since been pulled) and he admitted that it might take several generations to replace our form of government so he did not see his actions to be a form of treason, he would not be directly overthrowing the government. I told him that his involvement in the anarchist movement might be a better explanation for his concern about "constitutional rights" being violated in the search for those who are enemies of the state.

I'm on another music forum and the operator added a "politics/current events" even though he claimed that he "regretted" doing so to an entertainment board.

None of the musicians we discuss are politically outspoken. Virtually none of them are on the charts these days (a few may have been on the charts in the mid 1960s altough we discuss music being made up through today). Basically he launched that subsection as his own place to vent his poliwank frustrations. Rather than make an enemy over politics in a realm that is apolitical, I just ignore that section (as do most other users).

I come to FR for political discourse. We don't all agree and not all arguments are clearly stated but we are at least up to speed and don't have to keep knocking down the same leftist talking points and false arguments.

I still see (in some discussions, not necessarily that music forum) people saying the "Algore really wun!" but he didn't. We do not select presidents on the basis of popular vote. The other losers of those elections did not carry out protests years into the next administration. Algore's supporters are cry babies. They shouldn't even brag about that "popular" vote. The "official" tally had the top 2 candidates within 0.52% for the popular vote. That's 1/2 of 1%, well within a margin of error. There was no "National" recount. There didn't need to be (can you imagine the nightmare trying to qualify that?) because that is not how we determine elections. Several states were in contention and did not immediately report their figures. Some other states were not in contention and finalized their votes before all of the absentee ballots came in (generally the window can permit votes to continue arriving up to 2 weeks after the election, they just can't be postmarked after election day). There also was no effort to toss out all of the fraudulent votes. Seems to be a lot of haziness in an election total that was won by 0.52%; certainly not a number to brag about.

I didn't mean to bring this up again but it continues to come up from the AntiBush/er "peace" protestors. It is an example of how difficult it is to get to the present discussions when everything they spout is wrong. Look through the "Bomb Iraq" list and there will be more factual errors. It's a bit of rallying propaganda that hits the audience on a level they can grasp, childrens' songs.

There was no "National" recount.

Just this week, FOX said the official recount had Bush winning by about 1000 votes. It was a short segment, sort of a "if it still matters to anyone" type of announcement.

hey you know who made that logo? It`s just I run Dogeggs.com and I`m totally over my bandwidth now and I`m going to have to start paying thru the nose to keep it going. What I was thinking was to start selling tee shirts or stickers as a donation type of thing, but I don`t want to get my ass sued off if I use someone elses idea, like put that crybaby dem logo. It`s just if you know who made it, I want to ask him if it`s ok if i use it. I gotta do something or I`m gonna have to shut the page down. I ain`t paying a grand a month to bash dems, although it is worth it. It`s just a decision between eating and starving!

Cute song. Rather obviously extreme. Even kids would know that. We fight for free speech, well this is it.
