Hello, my FRiends...
I need your help and your prayers, please. I returned to my trusted OB, who delivered my son nearly 11 years ago ... During my annual, the nurse discovered a likely fibroid, and gave me a physicians's referral.
Well, this mass - he's still "99% sure" it's a fibroid - is filling my entire pelvic cavity on my right side, and there are at least two others as well. I took a CA125 blood test for ovarian cancer, to make sure. I won't get the results until early next week. And I need to have an MRI to determine what this mass is - the sonograms in the office weren't able to diagnose it, or its position, for sure. There is a small chance that it could be uterine sarcoma, which I PRAY it is not.
Also, since divorce had not been kind to me financially, I have no insurance, and need to go to the Medi-Cal office tomorrow, so I'll be covered. When my doctor measured the masses, he said they will have to come out, before they start crowding my kidneys and interfering with their function, which can be quite dangerous. I'm self-employed - I'm trying to keep everything going. Freedom versus sick pay... :-)
My FRiends, I just cried for the first time since I found out on Monday. I know I need to let go, and let God. I ask your prayers during this time of waiting, of decision, of action, whatever it is. I have to have the insurance in place before any treatment occurs, so I ask your prayers that that comes together quickly. And I ask for your healing prayers, and God's guidance for my doctor. I will need to have these removed soon, within a few weeks.
Thank you so much ... and God bless you all.

You've got my prayers, and there were several times this past year I thought I'd not make it out of the hospital. I did, and I'm fine, and I know you'll get through this.

What wonderful news. Bootless has been in my thoughts and prayers, I have been wondering how she is. I can't get to FR very often lately and to come on and find such great news is a joy. Hope she is online tomorrow with the details.

Thanks for coming back on us. She deserves it more as she is now getting bored after a big fight.

If you need to get a hyterectomy to clean out growing fibroids it is very important to take the six to eight weeks and recover. It means allot on how your body will heal. Unless you are to small as I was they take everything out via the vaginal canal. I had to be cut and cleaned out as I had hernias and other surprises.
Another gal told me she appleid for State and the application sat on the desk for a month so make sure you follow up every four days. Sqeaky wheel.

totally agree taking it easy is a must for a good recovery. It ain't easy for us fidgity ones but my doctor kept emphasising.
My surgeon asked if he could pray with me before hand that was very comforting.
I have had to change my whole diet no pork, proccessed foods allot of vegies and fresh fruit. Got so sick a couple of time I had to be hospitalized. Another lady that works in the local Pharmacy has had to do the same thing.
Did you have to change your eating patterns? I have been prone to colon infections since my hysterectomy. Changing my diet has helped ward off reaccuring sea sickness and colon infections. I had allot of scar tissue from my emerg c section twenty four yrs. ago. Dr. said my uterus was pushed up against my back.

Well now that I read the rest of the thread. Congrats!
Just remember take time to heal. Your body will tell you when you over do it.
Just think no more visits from your Aunt.

I just saw this post and wish I had seen it sooner. I went through this same thing almost 7 years ago. I had to wait two weeks until surgery before they could tell me if I had cancer or not. Thank God it wasn't. I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 39 and I have been GREAT ever since! Please give me an update on your condition when you can and God Bless you.

That's great news. I know her personally, and she is a really wonderful person (and a pilot, too!).
