Clinton: Prepare for globalism - a future when America no longer "the biggest dog on the street"

Clinton talks on the global economy at N.Y.U.

Former President Bill Clinton called on an audience of students to prepare for a future when America will no longer be "the biggest dog on the street" at the keynote address Tuesday of a New York University forum on globalization.

The current globalized world is not sustainable economically, politically or from a security vantage point, Clinton said at the second annual conference co-sponsored by New York University and the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation. Clinton spoke to an audience of about 450 students and guests.

"On Sept. 11, 2001, members of Al Quaeda used the forces of globalization - open borders, easy immigration, easy travel, easy access to information technology - to kill 3,100 people from 70 countries in three cities in the U.S.," Clinton said.

There are ways to improve our security without sacrificing civil liberties, Clinton stressed. For starters, our government needs to start using the same kinds of tracking systems employed by direct marketers and credit card companies, he said.

With such technology the government in a short period of time can track people who have multiple addresses on file, such as Sept. 11 ringleader Mohammed Atta, who had 12 addresses registered in the U.S, Clinton said. The government could also monitor people who have accrued a lot of credit card debt, he added, giving the example of the Sept. 11 terrorist who racked up $260,000 of debt on 30 credit cards.

Profiling people according to their movements or debt is much preferable than "profiling people because of their religion or ethnic heritage or whatever else," Clinton said, adding that people with such extreme habits were "either rich or up to no good."

The former president also touched on topics including the nuclear crisis in North Korea, economic initiatives in Africa, the Kyoto protocol on global warming and primary education in Mexico and Brazil. He said that the U.S. must help create a global society with "shared benefits, shared responsibility and shared values."

Clinton acknowledged that, "this is not the sexiest subject on the block." But he tried his best to add some flair with the analogy, "If none of us ever joined anything unless we got our way all the time, nobody would get married."

Students had high marks for the former chief executive.

"He throws out a lot of different tidbits of information about different countries," said Hiss an Baja, a 22-year-old first-year law student from California, adding, "The reason I came to N.Y.U. Law is because it's known as the global law school."

The day featured three panels on important topics in the globalization debate. Panelists included Robert Rubin, former secretary of the Treasury; Sandy Berger, former National Security Advisor to President Clinton; and George Soros, the investor and philanthropist. Moderators included Bernard Shaw, C.N.N.'s former anchor; and Karen DeYoung, associate editor at the Washington Post.

Am getting an update on the supposed Russian and Mexican troops massing south of New Mexico's border days ago. . . which all here insisted was a hoax. Supposedly there was some national news headline on it today.

Anyone see it?

Someone chatting on MSN messenger with me saw it and is trying to track down the source.

She was also reporting on a couple of things from a prophetic Brit.

The Brit was saying there was some noise in Britain that Brits hoped the USA would fail so Britain could be more of a world leader again. Dream on, IMHO.

But supposedly the headline indicated some truth to the troops massing south of here. Not sure.

Please let me know if you know of it.

Oh, the other Brit thing--the prophetic Brit had been "hearing" lots of things about several countries poised, waiting for US to get up to our necks in an Iraq quagmire or at least too stretched or depleted and then to start carving up sections of us to be divied out to each other.

That's the scenario I've felt would be played out.

Clinton is of course still obsessed about who has the biggest instead of who is promoting the truth.

Where to begin?

"The government could also monitor people who have accrued a lot of credit card debt, he added, giving the example of the Sept. 11 terrorist who racked up $260,000 of debt on 30 credit cards."

Yeah right. One terrorist had credit card debt. Thus, we must profile all people with credit card debt as possible terrorists.

How about this for a headline?

"Clinton Sees Link Between Credit Card Debt and Terrorism"

First line, "Rather than racially or religiously profile US immigrants, former impeached and disbarred President Clinton says that we should watch for the link between high credit card debt as a clue to possible terrorist activity. In a previous speech, he had claimed that our ancestors' sin of slavery is what led to 9/11..."

Absolutely. Should white men wearing white sheets over their heads and burning crosses be profiled? I would hope so. The same goes for other high risk groups.

But Bubba thinks we should investigate credit card debt? LOL! Not to worry. Poindexter is already doing that.

Europe. They are forming a huge and powerful super state in the European Union and are slowly taking over and enlarging the "judiciary" of a world court which they will control. They are trying to "shame"[since they have no power to force us] the US into becoming signatories to such jurisdictions. Examples abound. Some are mundane like food labeling: If the cheese doesn't come from, say, Holland, it can't be called gouda. They will force websites to adhere to their definition of "free speech" by their bans on "hate sppech" which amounts to such things as being too disparaging of the EU, not liking gays, all manner of speech that they simply do not like. There was also some human rights brouhaha whose details escape me in the early morning.
This is what Cliton and his ilk[are ilk still in season?]have been promoting and urging on the US. He took many steps to subjugate the US to such domination. Not surprisingly, many support such cumbyah, can't we all just get along nonsense.

This law student unknowingly spoke an essential truth about the rapist. He's a dilettante. A fraud. A fake. A fake intellectual. A fake president. A fake man (Sally Quinn had it about right when she said that THAT clinton was the first female president.)

Indeed, the rapist is a fake human.

What's strange is that Clinton almost seems like he's gloating at our likely reduction in status. Why?

Because it has been what he wanted all along. We are fortunate in that he was thinking with his gonads too much during his terms in office. I believe it saved us from some really damaging decisions. Not that the ones he made weren't damaging enough, but he didn't have enough political capital to change things as much as he wanted to. That's why Hillary stayed mad at him; not because of his philandering, but because he ruined the chance to take this country down from its position of superiority in the world.

Actually, I believe Bill really has no inherent beliefs of his own. Perhaps, though, he leans a bit toward being a Leninist. Only because he enjoys the fruits of being one of the elite.

His danger comes from the fact that he can be easily compromised simply because he is so corrupt. The real danger lies in the wife, IMO. She is a classic Marxist-Leninist and ruthless to the bone. She works straight out of the old Soviet handbooks. God help us if she ever seizes power here.
