NEW YORK CITY MAYOR FUMED OVER 'SMOKING' ON STAGE AT STONES CONCERT; BAND RACED OUT OF GARDEN AVOIDING COPS

**Exclusive**

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is fuming mad over Rolling Stones members smoking on stage at Madison Square Garden during an nationally televised concert this weekend, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The mayor sent cops to issue summonses," one stage source told the DRUDGE REPORT late Saturday. "But the cops watched the show, off stage, by a monitor, instead of stopping the concert."

HBO cameras captured band members Keith Richards and Ron Wood smoking cigarettes while performing.

"The band raced out of the Garden after they finished their last number, avoiding the police," an insider said. "The music had not even finished playing; and they were in cars already, spinning away. The did not even go to their dressing rooms!"

In December, ex-smoker Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed a strict smoking ban in New York City.

Bloomberg is also trying to get smoking banned in Central Park.

Bloomburg is a total idiot. How did that guy make all that money? Did he inherit it? This city and country are trying to protect itself from terrorists and get the economy going and he's spending all his poilitical capital on banning smoking? Mark Green could win if th election were held today and I'm not so sure there would be that much difference.

Say it isn't so! In New York you just show up and you can vote? No registration? How has this been allowed?

We happened to be there at Thursday night's concert. I can tell you there was definitely more weed being lit up than tobacco. Last time I checked, marijuana is illegal and tobacco is not. Does the Mayor really think Woods/Richards would give a **** about cigarettes?

The Democrats held this state in their grubby little fists for many, many years.
They didn't count on Cuomo losing.
Expect future elections in this state to get VERY ugly.

The Democrats came up with the fraud-o-rules.
And the descrip is very accurate.
I could vote here in my duistrict, go to a neighboring district, say that I live there, get a paper ballot, and vote. (Very basically.)
No questions asked, none answered. The polling aids literally ARE gaged from asking any questions.
Except to help create a fraudulent outcome. They can 'aid' you in voting. (Just like in Floriduh.)
Personally, I haven't seen that in my area, the people here are generally honest. But I'm more 'out in the sticks' area.

Oh, you're supposed to register...but nobody's going to check to make sure you have.

Here's what happened to me one year:

I registered to vote on my 18th birthday. At the time, I had to produce a birth certificate to prove my age and citizenship. I also had to provide some proof of residence, and I was lucky because I happened to have a bank statement in my own name with my address on it. A notarized statement of residence would suffice, however.

Nowadays, with the Motor Votor (Fraud) Law, all you need to do is sign a paper that says, "I promise that I am who I say I am, that I am 18, and that I am a citizen eligible to vote in the USA and NY State." No proof of identity is required.

Anyway...ten years goes by and I'm 28. For the past ten years I'd been voting in the exact same polling place. But this particular year (the first time Rudy ran for mayor of NYC and lost to Dinkins), I went to the school to vote and WHAMMO! they tell me I am not on the rolls.

"OK," I said, "What do I do?"

"Oh," the lady replied, "all you have to do is fill out this write-in vote and you're all set."

"OK," I said, and proceeded to do exactly that. When I came back to the table to hand in my ballot, I had my voter registration card and driver's licence out for inspection.

"We don't need any of that," the lady told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, "How do you know I am who I say I am? I could be anybody!"

"We aren't allowed to ask for ID," she said. And she wasn't. I know because I called the Board of Elections as soon as I got home. Needless to say, I blew a gasket, but it does no good.

So, Mears...I'm afraid I can't "say it ain't so," 'cause it IS so.

Regards,

An elect offical acting like he is a God and that all people under his control should bow down at his feet.

Me thinks that he will be another one time elected offical.

"Ed Skyler, who flacks for the tobacco-hating mayor, called the story 'a work of fiction.' A spokesman for the NYPD agreed and a cop who worked Stones security told The Post he didn't see any colleagues arrive bearing the message."

From Page Six of today's NYPost.

He's lucky Keith wasn't hooked up to a heroin drip while on stage.

You mean he wasn't?

I think the best defense would be for the Rolling Stones to say it was part of the pyrotechnics for the show. They had a permit for pyrotechnics, I'm sure of that. Almost every big rock-n-roll show has them...

Thoughtless? Hardly.

Late Lament
"Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bed-sitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none,
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right,
And which is an illusion."

A few weeks ago I went to see Hal Hollbrook doing his Mark Twain Tonight show (it was great BTW) and he was puffing on a cigar through most of the performance.

I'd be interested to see if Bloomberg would sic the cops on Mark Twain. ;~))
