I saw a little bit of the protestors rants on C-Span yesterday. The protest leader said:
...they impeached bill clinton 4 years ago for nothing. Are we gonna stand by and not impeach Bush?...who wants to impeach BUSH??!!
And the protestors were chanting:
No more blood for oil !! No more blood for oil !!...
I didn't watch much of it, but I saw more than I liked. What fools, imho...
I just love this. President Bush is a 'big picture' kind of guy!:
Mr. Bush was out of town, spending the weekend as he often does at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. But before he left, White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said, the president welcomed the free speech protected by the U.S. Constitution.
"We are a democracy, and people in the United States, unlike Iraq, are free to protest and to make their case known," Mr. Fleischer said. "That's a time-honored part of American tradition, and the president fully understands it. It's a strength of our democracy."

"We are headed toward war, and we don't need it," said Pat Buck, who at age 78 has become actively opposed to war.
"This is about the only thing I can do to show how I feel about the whole shape of the country today," she said after exiting one of 11 buses from Maine.
These are the yellow cowards who would, after Saddam manufactured poison gas is released in Manhattan killing 100,000 people, be first in line complaining that "they" didn't do enough to protect America.

"It makes me feel like I'm doing something." If she ever tried to think maybe she would realize that funny taste in her mouth comes from pleasuring a murderering Iraqi dictator.

I watched part of the DC demonstration on C-Span while some of the speakers were on. They mostly chanted slogans over and over and when Jesse Jackson came on in his pimp/Godfather-looking outfit I turned the channel because I couldn't take it anymore.
However, I am a bit leery of the war idea, because I'm afraid it will create more problems than it will solve. I hope I am wrong.

...Carlos Marentes, who runs the Farm Workers Center in El Paso, said... "in a war, we are the ones paying," he said. "There are more serious problems that this administration should be taking care of, especially the poverty that affects our communities."....Who's 'we', Carlos? It looks to me like you've been the recipient of a lot more government largesse than you deserve.
The center was built with HUD funds provided by the City of El Paso. The Department of Community Development of the City of El Paso, as well as the Engineering Department, were instrumental in the realization of this important project.
And you've got a damned nerve, after receiving such generosity, to post a story called A History of American Ingratitude on your website.

I wish one of these idiots would grow a brain cell they can all share. None of these morons have an idea what to do about the situation. All they can do is mindlessly shout NO WAR. I suppose we're all just supposed to lay here and wait for the next attack(s). Good thing the adults are in charge now. Hope we can keep it that way for a while and perhaps build a 2/3 majority.
Btw, there is no draft. If you don't want to go to war just don't sign up. Thanks to past wars fought and won, you can stay here and continue to be an embarrassment.

I'd like to know if this Dallas newspaper printed side-by-side an equally-lengthy and equally-detailed article about the anti-protest protest. Did they print any quotes from freedom lovers at they rally? Did they search out, interview and photograph the aged and decrepit, the student and the housewife from the patriots that were there?
Never mind, I know the answer to my questions.

"it's all about 'oil and control of the world'"So what if it is? Better we than the Islamofascists control the world!
(Of course the "Liberal" taliban doesn't agree. Their meritricious sociopathic leaders intend to gain control of the Islamofascists, and the fools who follow them don't understand anything, can't think for themselves, and merely parrot what their leaders tell them.
A fool is more dangerous than a scoundrel.
Had it not been for the fools who allowed Hitler to come to power, World War II and the Nazi Holocaust would never have happened.)

On the news reporting on the SF and DC protests, I saw a placard that read "Only world peace will bring security!"
Hmm. (Barf.)

"it's all about "oil and control of the world""
If that's what it's all about, then, by all means, let's give it to Saddam Hussein.

Oil is as good of a reason as any to go to war, it is vital to our economy and to the peace of the world. Also, somebody has to be in charge to make sure evil doesn't rule, who is going to do it? The UN? Hah! It's us, like or it not, deal with it!!!

This was really an anti-Bush rally. I had one leftist who at first tried to tell me that it as all about oil, admit that this was really about the coming election.
