Chicago-born Charles Robert Carner began working in the entertainment industry after graduating valedictorian of his class at Columbia College, where he directed the film Assassins, starring Joe Mantegna. Assassins went on to be named Best Student Film at the Chicago International Film Festival.

Following his graduation, Carner went to work as a story editor for director Tony Bill, all the while writing screenplays in his spare time. Carner's first script to make it before cameras was Seduced, a hit TV movie starring Gregory Harrison and Cybill Shepherd. He followed that with the action-adventure feature Gymkata; Let's Get Harry, with Mark Harmon, Robert Duvall and Gary Busey; and the telefilm Eyes of a Witness, starring Jennifer Grey and Daniel J. Travanti. Carner expanded into producing on the feature film Blind Fury, with Rutger Hauer. He then began realizing his lifelong dream of directing his own scripts. He began with episodes of "Midnight Caller", "Reasonable Doubts" and "The Untouchables", before moving on to such television movies as A Killer Among Friends and One Woman's Courage.

Carner's list of television movies continued to expand, with such titles as Vanishing Point, starring Viggo Mortensen, and The Fixer, starring Jon Voight, both of which went on to win several awards. In July 2000, his film Who Killed Atlanta's Children? debuted on Showtime and became that network's highest rated movie of the year. Carner made a huge splash on basic cable when he wrote the TNT Western Crossfire Trail, starring Tom Selleck. He wrote, directed and executive produced the recent holiday hit Christmas Rush for TBS Superstation, starring Dean Cain and Eric Roberts, and has just finished directing Judas and Jesus, starring Johnathon Schaech, Jonathan Scarfe, Tim Matheson and Bob Gunton. It is scheduled to air in spring 2003.

His current project, in his own words: "I am writing, directing and executive producing WACO for Showtime. It is based on the book A Place Called Waco by Branch Davidian survivor David Thibodeau. Sandy Russell Gartin is executive producing along with me, and Dan Gifford is our technical consultant. I am working on the screenplay now. This film will tell the truth about Waco - I am staking my reputation and my integrity on it."

Mr. Carner is also a cofounder of GunTruths.com and of Citizens of America, the national pro-self-defense, pro-Second Amendment advertising campaign. He is a Life Member of both the National Rifle Association and the Sierra Club, serves on the Executive Committee of Catholics in Media, and is a biographee in the 1998 edition of Who's Who in America.

"and the Sierra Club"

This is certainly ODD!!! I was with you up till I spotted this little wart on ya.

NRA, the truth about Waco, then you might as well have said... But I whole heartedly support some of the most liberal, lying Commonazis in history!!!

Get back to me when you get that malignant wart cleaned up and I'll see about it then.

ASK JIM ROB. ATF Night has been in "Breaking News" for 2 years now. It is a pro-2A group that meets once a month. Jim Rob has never had a problem with it in "Breaking", King Illbay.

Why has ATF Night never been pulled from Breaking before? Has Ilbay been promoted to some position around here we should all know about??

I hope (1) there is a big turn out, and (2) someone decides to give Orange County a chance at this same program, with a little more notice.

Since I live near the Orange County line, I know well just how long a drive it is out to Culver City - ATF Night takes place every month on the 3rd Thursday.

Mark your calendars now for the next several months - they keep getting better and better!

Sorry I wasn't able to make it to the gathering this past Saturday - was tied up in political meetings all day!

See you soon, I hope!

Culver City is on the West side of Los Angeles, not far from LAX (Los Angeles International Airport).

We hope you can join us!

So where, exactly, is Culver City? Looks like a great thing.

South to L.A. and hang a right. If you get to Santa Monica(people's republic of) you've gone too far!
