Thes Tag Lines Are Driving Me Crazy (VAnity)

The new "taglines" after people's usernames are really distracting to me. Is it the intense pressure to think up something too cute? Is it the odd little eye-pulling font that makes it less comfortable to read the article? I can't say for sure. It just doesn't seem to detract from the message board format, at least for me. Does anyone else think so? I love FR but find this new tagline thing a little annoying. Maybe Jim could give us the option to view or not view taglines as part of our user preferences.

It was an attempt at humor in context with this thread and FR. It was done above board and with proper protocol by pinging you and linking to your home page. I was following your statement on the bottom of your home page which says ‘Only use of graphics for links to this page.’ By linking to your page it would certainly cause an increase in Freepers looking at your page and in turn be a positive benefit to you. You however, would apparently perfer to be seen in a negative light.

Your sense of humor needs work and your mouth needs to be washed out with soap.

I would have to agree with you. I thought we had a great thread going. It seemed to have legs of its own for a while. Most of the pings were individual pings and wern't of the mega ping variety so maybe that slowed it a bit. But still, over 400 replies is impressive.
