SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey threw a cup of ice water over his head and splashed a child in the first quarter of the NFC playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The emotional Shockey, who often alienates opposing fans and players by his demonstrative nature, was being heckled by fans at the time. Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said no one was hurt, and the rookie tight end was not restrained by security.
It happened shortly after Shockey thought linebacker Julian Peterson had held him on an incomplete third-down pass.
"I think it was an act of frustration," Hanlon said.
The boy was given a football by the Giants.

What a classless thug who can't skip the steroids in his morning juice. He will bring nothing but bad fortune to those around him in the long-run. He belongs in Irving Texas. No ... he doesn't.
And just what the hell was Parcells thinking when he decided to coach for Jerry Jones and his band of thieves, rapists, drug dealers, daddy in every town, gun through airport, gang bangers anyhoooo?
So, do you hate the Cowboys? Hard to tell. ;o)
BTW ... name just one thief, rapist, drug dealer, etc. currently on the Cowboy roster.

Are we really to the place where this is news? I doubt he intentionally targeted the child. It made news not only because of the splash but because an arrogant loud-mouthed showboat did the splashing. And while he probably didn't intentionally target a specific child, it wouldn't surprise me to know that he did in fact mean to hit the fans behind him. Of course, splashing water is still no big deal, but it is rather unusual for players to start chunking things at the people in the stands. :-)
The stupidest thing I saw him do yesterday was veer away from a sure touchdown simply to try to run through two defenders to prove he could. He didn't score on that play. They did score a couple plays later, but I wonder what his coach and teammates would've thought of that move if they hadn't?

...Terrel Owens...He is the biggest a$$hole I have ever seen in a NFL uniform. Correct. His behavior yesterday was far worse than anything Shockey did. In fact: The Giants might have won, after Owens caused two personal foul penalties, except that Giants players retaliated. The first was a taunting penalty and the second was a roughness penalty on an extra point play that had already been whistled dead. Owens is a jerk of the highest order.

Maybe they can trade Shockey and S. Williams for the 9ers Tirading Owens.. These kind of players do nothing to make the NFL suitable for kids of all ages. IMO.
I don't care much for either the Giants or 49ers, but in the last two minutes of that game I went back and forth and back again, trying to decide which team to root for. While T. Owens is a supremo a-hole, the Giants out a-holed him in the end to lose the game. I'm not even talking about rolling over for the 49ers offense; it was the two retaliations that offset 49er penalities that cost them the game.

The Giants blew this game big time and thus deserved to lose. Kicking a field goal on third down, having a timeout for the special team coach to instruct the holder to spike the ball if it's a bad snap, allowing two 2 point afters, defense losing steam, I could go on. Bad coaching, bad playing by the defense and punt teams.
Watching the games this weekend it dawned on me why nobody watches baseball playoffs anymore....Football is on in the afternoon or EARLY evening and the baseball playoffs begin at 9:30 PM when working parents are getting ready for bed and children are asleep. As for Shockey....he's great.

Speaking of stroids......Terrell Owens gets more than his allotted share everyday. And I don't wabnt to hear the "oh they test the player"s BS
To: Types_with_Fist
Not quite. Apparently Shaun Williams of the Giants had been yapping all game - Owens just gave it back to him after the 49ers caught up and Williams snapped and threw the first punch.
If you can't take the heat, get out of the playoffs.

I hope this "child" never goes swimming, he just might get splashed and he would have to call the police.

Miami punk. That says it all. If it weren't for Terrell Owens, Shockey would have been the biggest *$&%#! on the field yesterday.

I am a Buddy Ryan Eagles fan. That should tell you what I think of the Cowboys. My devotion to the team died when Richie Kotite had the helm.
The Parcells issue is a paradox for mio. All Eagles fans respect and admire Parcells. I think he was a bit tasteless when he said he wished Buddy Ryan had died from his famous "Porkchop Bowl" comment, but hearing Parcells rip Ryan was funny.
I sure miss the likes of Bavarro, Culpepper, Meggett. I used to go watch their camps during lunch when I worked in Pleasantville, NY. in the 80's.
I am going to take a wait and see attitude with the Cowboys. Vermeil cleaned up the Rams. Parcells cleaned up the Jets and he loathed the Patriots while being a professional about it. Those NFC East teams sure had some time tested, great coaches. Excluding Jimmy Jones of course....."How 'bout them Cowboys"?......Feh!

Little old to have pimples, don't you think? Can you say juice? Knew you could.

I love Buddy Ryan's Eagles. That should tell you what's what. Sure Buddy was an idiot, but he was an idiot with principles. Poor Buddy spent most of his game like a deer in the headlights, but he sure coached a great defense. He sure did not put up with showboat BS either.
That snowbowl whiteout in Chicago, the bodybag bowl, the Giants/Redskins games, ah.....sweet times in the 80's.

Yea, I saw the middle finger for 1 second on the screen. I am sure he will be fined for both instances. The better team won and that's all I care to say about that. There were children on both sides yesterday. Terrell Owens always makes waves. One more thing. I'll take Terrell over Shockey any day of the week!

Maybe you should watch tennis or golf instead of football. That way you might not get your panties in such a wad.

I'll bet the Brat shut up....at least for a few minutes, anyway....

I love Buddy Ryan's Eagles. That should tell you what's what. Yep ... it sure does. Butty Ryan hated everyone. I wonder if he even liked himself. ;o)

I have a good friend who is a huge Eagles fan and another friend who is a huge Cardinals fan (talk about a life of frustration) and another friend whose two favorite teams are the Stealers and whoever is playing against the Cowboys. Football season isn't as fun the last few years as it was in the heyday of the early '90s.
To: al_c
The only time Buddy liked himself was when some red-eye gravy spilled on his arm. Buddy was no politician or eloquent type, he was a coach. Unfortunately, a coach in today's NFL has to be something else too.
Parcells, Vermeil, Shula sr., are dinosaurs who's integrity and honor will be poorly served by today's media, fans, and league management. Everyone likes to see dinosaurs, just not real ones. FWIW, I am damn glad to see Dan Reeves and those Falcons in the playoffs. They are a good bunch. Reeves is growing scales and a tail too!
