"ABC even pre-empts skating for this stuff!" I guess it's all a matter of perspective as I've never understood how ESPN could use so much airtime televising--nothing personal, my FRiend--ICESKATING?!! But I'll be durned if my wife and my mother-in-law and my daughter ain't mesmerized by it...LOL!!
To each his/her own, I reckon...MUD

Rush and Hannity. Imus too. All take off when I have time to listen. Rather irksome.
To: TLBSHOW
Yep...and I'm taping. He finally mentioned Patty Murray and it's in the opening monologue, so that's a good sign. I'd like to see a FReeper get thru and bring up the RATner comments as well!!

I don't remember anything about Rush thanking her fer anything, then again, I wasn't rerally listening that hard 'cuz I didn't think it was much of a story. Will try to find a link to the beast's version but she claimed he apologized for ridiculing Chelsea's appearance and thanked her for her service to our country. I think Drudge broke with the news with newsmax picking up on it. Back at ya when I find the link.

Dunno if it is the same Chris Baker. All I know is that the one in Houston was originally a comic and bartender who spent a good deal of time in Florida. Have heard him defend gun rights while slicing and dicing to bits the standard liberal arguments. Seems to be big on individual responsibility, mocking envirowhackos/taxers/mayor out-of-town Brown/downtown toy train, and slaps libs with the perfect label of 'utopians'(said with a sneer). But I guess that's not enough to consider him a conservative(according to another poster). < / sarcasm >
Oh and he beat up Batman.

" I understand the point you were making. I was fretting about Bush's aides talking as though a tax cut that doesn't include a cut of the top rate would be nothing to criticize."
I appreciate your frustration.Rush's mistake was treating a Reuter's story as if it were gospel. The media likes to tweek conservatives by writing stories in a way that will cause conservative blood pressures to rise.Rush took the bait and caused unnecesssary agitation on the right. Reports today indicate that no one will be excluded, which I hope is true.We won't know for sure, until Tuesday and I felt Rush was jumping the gun in his criticism. We'll see on Tuesday, hopefully we'll all be cheering and not jeering. Tax cutting regards.

"Rush's mistake was treating a Reuter's story as if it were gospel..." I'm not so sure it's a mistake on Rush's part. When the RATS try and float a particular compromise the Bush Administration is allegedly prepared to make, El Rushbo pounces on it and rails against the GOP for considering such a compromise and it serves to warn the weak-kneed RINOs the sorta hell they'll catch if they don't fight for the full package. He even went on to say he hopes this story isn't true, which in turn decreases the chances that it will become true.
That's Limbaugh flexing his EIB muscles more than his falling fer the Left's wishful thinking, IMHO...MUD

Excerpt from the NY Observer
"....Mrs. Clinton began with an anecdote about a meeting earlier that evening with her longtime nemesis, Rush Limbaugh, according to people in attendance. Mrs. Clinton recounted that she had been at a wedding in Brooklyn, where she was introduced to Mr. Limbaugh by the brides father, Jewish activist Malcolm Hoenlein. Mr. Limbaugh informed her that he owed her an apology. Where, she wondered, would he begin? A laugh arose from the audience, which included media executive John Sykes, political power couple Sarah and Victor Kovner, fund-raiser Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, and long-time friend-of-the-Clintons Susan Thomases. Mr. Limbaughs apology, it turned out, was for talking about Mrs. Clintons daughter, Chelsea, on his show. She accepted.
I am convinced either Drudge, Newmax or some other publication also said he thanked her for her service to our country. Still hunting for it.

Whew, after awhile I began to think I was imagining what I thought I read, but here is the headline as it appeared on the DrudgeReport on 12/17/02:
RUSH LIMBAUGH COMES FACE TO FACE WITH HILLARY CLINTON; SHOWDOWN IN BROOKLYN AT WEDDING; CONGRATULATES SENATOR ON HER 'DEDICATION TO PUBLIC SERVICE'; BOTH POSE FOR A PICTURE TOGETHER: HILLARY TELLS PALS, 'HE SAID HE REGRETS THINGS HE'S SAID ABOUT [DAUGHTER] CHELSEA'... DEVELOPING...
Both the article in NY Observer and this headline on Drudge should have been more than enough for Rush to contradict or admit on his radio show. Curious whether he ever did.

" I missed the week when he might have given an explanation as to his meeting with Hillary and poof he went on vacation. Did he ever offer his version and did he indeed thank her for her service to our Country?"
Not only that, but Rush said on air, that he thought Hillary was a nice woman and his objections to the clintons were always on policy and nothing personal. Rush repeated again his feeling that billclinton seemed like the kind of guy you would love to play golf with and smoke cigars with and then chase girls.Rush said he was being a gentleman and no one could expect him to behave otherwise, when meeting Hillary.Had I been Rush-I would have also behaved like a gentleman and made polite cocktail party chatter, along the lines of-" Lovely wedding, have you known the families long, the bride looks beautiful, have you tried the shrimp, etc." Never in a million years would I bring up a sensitive subject in a social setting-for all Rush knew, Hillary could have thrown an ashtray at him.And the result of Rush apologizing ,was that Hillary( that nice woman) ridiculed his apology at a fund raiser. Her friends also sniffed to the NY dailies, that his apology was "too little, too late." It was the wrong time and the wrong place for Rush to apologize.Hillary is a pit bull and Rush should have known better than to put his hand out for her to lick. I don't know how Rush says he can separate the personal from the policy with the clinton's, to me they are one and the same.I wonder if Hillary apologized to Rush for her husband making him,Public Enemy #1, after OKC. Somehow,I doubt it.
