Happy New Year, rintense!! Hey, where's our favorite hunky Sec. Serv. guy? Maybe he got a holiday too!

I got an interesting prayer request in my e-mail today. It was asking for everyone to pray that Saddam will see the folly of staying on as Pres. of Iraq, and will be led to step down so as to avoid war. Since we're looking for regime change as well as the end of weapons of mass destruction, the larger and most intransigent part would be taken care of with his resignation. Frankly, I don't think he'd ever step down; he's too arrogant for that, but so be it if he doesn't, it is his skin. Unfortunately it would also be the skins of may Iraqi soldiers and civilians and American and Allied fighting men and women. So I'm going to pray for Saddam to hear God's guidance and step down.

Oh man, look at those two silos behind the President and Laura. We passed several of those on our way to and from Dallas a few weeks back. I love the farm and ranch country. The people who have that history have such character and heart. Must be the great outdoors that gives them such peace...they work hard and they provide for the rest of us. YeeeHawwwww! :) Happy New Year Everyone! :)

I saw it on Fox. I saw nothing to indicate anything except them being in good spirits. I think it is just one of those flukes of photography, where the camera catches you in between expressions or words. They are fine, and the reporters were reasonable civil (except for one twit reporterette who kept asking if we could AFFORD a war with Iraq, and who was promptly put in her place).

HAPPY NEW YEAR, rintense, and all the Bush Babes and Bucks who frequent this thread. I am having family over tonight, so I really appreciate this thread here early! All of you have a wonderful evening!

Go back and look at the pics. What in the world is wrong with our President's neck? It appears to be all red and bruised. Could there be a connection with the scraped up legs posted above?

Great to see the thread early.

Happy New Year (early ;-) ) to all, and thanks to you, once again, faithful RWP, for the Dose.

The First Couple has seemed burdened since Thanksgiving, in most (not all) of the photos I've seen. We cannot know fully the burdens they carry, but we see some of the evidence from time to time. This last month and a half, they seem to be showing the strain, which makes me want to ask the praying readers to kick up the prayers a notch for their strength, stamina, and wisdom, etc.

I have a sense in my prayers that President Bush has been especially affected by seeing his daughters over the Thanksgiving-Christmas holidays, being burdened that he is not there enough for their needs. For the first time in his presidency, I have felt while praying for him that he is wondering if it is worth it to be president when his daughters need him so much -- that he believes he was there enough for them as Governor of Texas, but not enough as President. I feel he needs grace to discern in what ways they don't need him because they are learning to make their own decisions, while still needing him in other, lesser ways than before. And that he needs to let go of them a little more, as they move truly into adulthood, and understand they have to make some mistakes as they stumble, and glide, into their places as mature young ladies.

You parents whose children have become young adults will understand.
