Good day for ghost stories. Tomorrow is the equinox.
My hobby is shooting pictures at graveyards. Sometimes, weird stuff shows up.
Ghosts? I dunno... just things I can't explain.
Well, tell me your stories... FReepers are a good source to get data for my book.
My ex had a great one... I'll post it later.

Best ghost stories were by M.R. James, about 80 years ago, now available in a couple of paperback editions.

Have you ever heard of a shadowy figure named "Jim Crow." Well he walks the halls of the Democratic party and they love to invoke his name. Noone, outside the Democratic party, knows for sure if the guy really exists from a long-ago period or if he's just a figment of their imagination. The spooky thing is, this Jim Crow guy usually shows up when the Democratic party is trying to divide America, scare and intimidate black American's. Democrats say he's an invention of the Republican Party, but there's no such evidence. In some conservatives quarters though, some will admit he was shot and killed by their own cold-blooded hands because of his mean and ugly spirit. Yet strangely enough, that same ugly and mean-spirited ghost of Jim Crow continues to haunt us today through words and deeds of the Democratic Party. Just last week, about midnight, there were reports of two ghostly figures fighting on the White House lawn. It was said from eye-witness account, those who believe in the supernatural, one figure was certaintly that of Jim Crow and the other had a remarkable resemblence to Abraham Lincoln. So, I'd say this Jim Crow is not a friendly spirit like that of Casper on Romper Room, but a mean, ugly, divise, spirit that should by all means be exorcised from the Democratic party once and for all.

Summer solstice right? Vernal equinox right? Get back to me. EQUINOX: Think "equal"... as in equal nighttime / daytime. There is a vernal equinox (March) and an autumnal equinox (September).
SOLSTICE: Think "peak". There is a Summer soltice (June) = Maximum daytime. There is a Winter soltice (Dec. 21) = maximum nighttime.

You are right on. Yeah, so the day and the night are equal in your world then.
Care to place a wager on that?

My ex had a ghostly experience while staying at a girlfriends house.
She was in college and not a drinker or a doper.
She was awakened in her room by voices and then footsteps around her bed.
Although it was June, the room was freezing. She kept her eyes closed.
In the morning she learned that the dead grandfather had never left the house he built.
One of her girlfriends brothers saw him sitting at the foot of his bed.
A painting of a great-great aunt who was a nurse in the Civil War was also in the room. Go figure.

Stand corrected. Knew two girls who would pray to Odin on the 21st.
God they were looney, but fun. How about a ghost story?

I'd better not since I am completely befuddled by your comment and am obviously in way over my head. I bow to your superior knowledge of these matters.

My grandfather's identical twin brother was killed in WWI.
One day, when my aunt was 3 or 4 (this would have been about 1924), she was playing outside and a man came up to her and started talking to her. She said he was very nice, and he taught her how to whistle. Then he walked away.
She ran inside to show my grandmother how Uncle Leslie had taught her how to whistle. My grandmother asked, "who told you about him?" It seems they'd never mentioned Uncle Leslie to my aunt, because it was too painful for my grandfather....

Yeah... I've heard of the term. I did not start this thread as a forum of racial issues.
There are ghosts of every color, creed, age and gender.

This is good. An old friend of mine told me about a Confederate soldier walking up his front walk and vanishing... poof!
His father told him it was an old soldier coming home. Good response.
