I don't really have anywhere else to put this, so I'll just shove it in this thread. NBC is so stupid that they just put out a press release listing the home, work, cell and beeper numbers of practically everyone of any importance in their PR departments. NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, News, Sports, Entertainment, if you ever have a need to complain about bias again, well, NBC just handed you a direct line to them!!!

Perhaps he's trying out again to be a male model.

Well, that photo would fit perfectly in a JCPenney catalog...

Entire cast of West Wing "Well, he did win the popular vote. Good night Mr. President".

No, they called him "Mr. Vice President."

Not only was that skit pathetic, but the entire is pre-taped tonight - this professor skit, the West Wing skit, the VP selection skip = everything is on videotape; nothing is "live."

The professor skit and VP selection skits were live, not taped. Didn't you notice at the end of his opening monologue the control room did a fade out but did it too slowly? You could see Al suddenly bolting over to the VP sketch.

I think the only taped skit was the one with him on the set of the Left Wing. Everything else was live, but with weird cameras and the like.

Correct.

DUers are orgasmic. Really.

It's really amazing - and a bit disturbing - how much they read into this show that simply wasn't there. I especially loved the guy that posted this "analysis" of the Deeper Meaning:

Gore's Triangulating... Translation: "Hey Greens, hey rank-and-file Democrats, hey independents: your President is coming to restore peace and prosperity."
Apparently most of them have forgotten that the WRITERS write the sketches, not Al Gore.

Oh, I liked this one too:
You just know the Republicans will be "outraged" that any of this made it on the air. Expect a "Wellstone memorial" style response from the squawking class.
I'm still waiting to see any FR posts of outrage, or even annoyance, regarding this matter. DU is like the SciFi Channel ... they have their own laws of physics over there or something.

I think this will help put the show out of it's misery. It had a couple of moments, but the show seems to run cold more often than it runs hot these days. I'm no expert, only started watching SNL during the first season. SNL has gone to the brink, and the bottom, then back up over the years but this show proves it's time may have passed.

I never heard Phish before, they were pretty good. Lots better than rap.

The tires are the things on your car
That make contact with the road
The car is the thing on the road
That takes you back to your abode

The tires are the things on your car
That make contact with the road
Bummed is what you are
When you go out to your car and it's been towed

I woke up one morning in November
And I realized I love you
It's not your headlights in front
Your tailpipe, or the skylight above you
It's the way you cling to the road
When the wind tries to shove you
I'd never go riding away
And come back home without you

What will be the consenses with the public/pundits ?

I doubt they'll even bother arguing it. The pundit shows will air 30 seconds of whatever they think was the best sketch (almost certainly either the Left Wing or Hardball), and that'll be the end of it.

He wants an actor to say to him "Mr. President, the Joint Chiefs want an answer." Gore says, "Tell them we're going in."

Well, Al on SNL was mostly five kinds of pathetic. I see no outrage here. The Lott sketch would have been more appropriate before Lott's Friday "mea maxima culpa," but otherwise, it was just sort of sad. I lost interest after Weekend Update and went back to watching Cary Grant in "Father Goose."

There is no way the VP selection skit was live, with Al in the hottub one second, and fully dressed in a suit the next second. THe professor skit also looked taped.
