Re: time to dump the chump. You are SOOOO right. Unfortunately, there are some people out there who think that to do so is some kind of cave-in to the Rats and who refuse to contemplate it based on that. So short-sighted. He is going to be an anchor dragging us down. He is bad for the party (never has been a very good leader anyway) and should go. And if he doesn't have the good grace to do it voluntarily, I hope we have some senators who have the gumption to go to him privately and read him the riot act. He cares more about himself than his country or his party. That is not the kind of guy I want representing me in there. I am really disappointed that all the Rep senators are backing him. They will be sorry in the long run. Get ready for NAACP ads with burning crosses and Lott morphing into Bush as November 2004 gets closer.

And by stretching the humor to the absurd, it seems to minimize Lott's actual bonehead statements.
