Absolutely disgusting, and something I wish I still didn't know. I don't want to know about disgusting things I can't do a thing to solve. My heart breaks too easy.

Well that's one way to desensitize recruits.

I am not sure what skill this is even supposed to test or train. A sad display regardless.

Seems like they could use death row inmates instead.

At least they've stopped used captured guerrillas instead.

U.S. Special Forces are the baddest, most effective fighters in the world. Yet they manage to train without torturing defenseless animals as part of their training (or killing any animal for any reason besides survival purposes).

Let me have my way with these shitheads and for weeks on end they will cry out to their mothers and God in their wish they had been the dog.

Just how does killing a defensless animal "prove" bravery? In my book it only proves cruelty.

Real warriors, aren't they?
To: Pokey78
Modern 'Inca' warriors. The world would be a better place without them.
At least the Koreans boil their dogs alive before they eat them. They don't eat them raw.

Someone forward this to PETA. Think we'll get a response?
Love to see all their sorry *sses go to Peru.
They might actually serve a purpose for once.

This is something I would imagine in an Al-Qaeda training camp or in some God-forsaken piece of Gaza at a Hamas facility, not a government military training base in a supposedly "civilized" country.
Unbelievable. I can joke about almost anything, but not this. Not this.

If the members of PETA were so concerned with animals they'd be lining up to the dogs' place.

Didn't a former CO at ST2 get in hot water in the early 70s over something similar?

Wouldn't be a better test of courage if the dog wasn't tied? And if it had rabies? And they had to use their bare hands? Then maybe you could respect these bozos.

Can't they just use Hollywood actors instead of dogs? They should base it on level of intelligence.

Only a cowardly lowlife kills a dog or any creature this way.

They must have taken this part of the training from the NAZI SS manual. I believe that killing their dog at the end of trainig was a requirement for graduation and a sign of allegiance to Hitler. It has a purpose and it is designed to make the kind of killer who does not cringe at any order given.
There is nothing new under the sun.
