What do you all think is the best tank in the world, now and before of cause.

I´m from Germany so for me it´s clear. The Leopard 2A5 ist the best tank the world has ever known. We also produced some great tanks like the Tiger or Panther, for Expert´s the Henschel Sturmtiger and the Köngistiger are the ancestors of all modern tanks and the Us and Russia have stolen our ideas.

OH I agree, the Panzers for the most part were maintenance nightmares.

Shouldn't your question be "what tank do you like the best?" instead of "which tank is the best?"

The M1A1 is second to none in all areas of concern. If you were really trying to state that any other tank ever created is bettern than the M1A1, then you need to do some research. I think you just mistated your question.

In late 41 Hitler was shown captured Soviet KV-1 and T-34 tanks. "How could such savages produce such tanks!" he roared. He gave the go ahead for the production of the Tiger. The IS-II was probably the only Allied tank that was actually deployed during the war, that could truly match the King Tiger.

very true, but as mobile bunker, well sighted and well hidden, they were a very nasty. My vote for the best tank gun on an US/Brit tank goes to the 17 pounder mounted on a Sherman "Firefly"

Give it up for the T34, sloped armor, 2x the range of a Panther, 3x the range of a Tiger, and an 85mm high velocity gun. That tank made swiss cheese of every German tank it went up against.

Yep. You can faintly see the "letterbox" MG hatch peculiar to the Panther D on the left side of the glacis plate.

I don't think any tank would have kept them from losing the war, and it certainly wouldn't have kept them out of hell.

Precisely why I prefer Imperial All Terrain Armored Transports especially with General Veers in command. Excellent in all types of environments. They do have trouble with the occasional tow cable however. :)

T-35/85 was a good tank. The early T34/76 were no match for the Tiger at long ranges.

You ever try to park a vehicle - a tank even - with only one gear? Nawp. They have two gears - Reverse and backwards-reverse. That way they can be neatly parked.
