Celebrities to Send Bush Anti-War Letter
LOS ANGELES (AP)--Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday signed by a hundred celebrities who want President Bush to stop his war rhetoric toward Iraq.
The letter reportedly is signed by stars including Kim Basinger, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Lange and Martin Sheen, publicists for the event said Monday.
Details of the letter weren't released.
Bush has threatened military force against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, saying the dictator has amassed weapons of mass destruction that pose a danger to the United States.
United Nations weapons inspectors are searching the Middle Eastern country for such devices but have turned up little so far.
Farrell, who plays a veterinarian on the NBC drama ``Providence,'' previously compiled a celebrity-endorsed letter in June asking U.S. senators to vote against a plan to bury the nation's nuclear power waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain.
Co-signers of that letter included Alec Baldwin and Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbra Streisand and Harry Belafonte.
On July 9, senators voted 60-39 in favor of the Yucca Mountain project.

My wife will probably know the name. She does crazy things like pointing to perfectly grown up women and saying, "oh don't you remember xxxx xxxxx? She was the youngest sister on Little House on the Prarie." Yeah, right.

Bo Derek is Republican though perhaps not that bright. Same with Dixie Carter. The woman who plays Raymond's wife makes no apologies for being a pro-life conservative. Drew Carey (I think) tends conservative/libertarian. I think a lot of country-western celebs trend conservative.

Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday signed by a hundred celebrities who want President Bush to stop his war rhetoric toward Iraq. Actually, in a previous era, Farrel played a soldier on TV. That makes him an expert in most eyes.
I actually agree with these people. I want Bush to stop the rhetoric, as well. It's time to stop the talk and get to it before Hussein gets any stronger.

4. Charlton Heston 5. Bob Hope 6. Shirley Temple Most of the old Hollywood legends who actually took pride in their country were Republican: Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart, James Cagney, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra even.

Bo Derek is actually quite bright. Saw her on Larry King(along with Loretta Lynn and someone else) on women who supported Bush and she knows what she's talking about. She's not a stereotype and showed it. Dixie Carter came around, like all people with a conscience and said the Demonratic party was not for her!

Jessica Lange, not to be outdone by Jennifer "FI" Aniston who referred to President Bush as a "fu**ing idiot". What a class act, right? Nasty people they are and I refuse to watch or buy anything with people like these Hollyweird liberals who are so into themselves and don't know what they're talking about.

I'm clueless. Who are the celebs on Drudge Report?

I'd add one of the greatest of that generation of stars...Clark Gable. The King of Hollywood was at the 52 Republican convention....introducing Ike I assume.

Perhaps Bush should respond to them on a level they would understand by asking them:
Do you know how many movie theaters would be destroyed by one nuclear bomb? How would you make your millions then?
Do you know how many snail darter fish would be killed by one weapon of mass destruction? Or even how many old growth trees would be turned to pulp?
Do you know how many mindless silly TV shows would be canceled if most of their sponsors were killed by an atom bomb?
What would you do if the factory that makes the Aids Awareness ribbons were to be destroyed by a Saddam missle? How would anyone know that you really care?
Do you know how many abortion clinics would be destroyed if Saddam dropped a bomb on a major city?
Do you know that if Saddam nuked New York, no democrat could win the presidency for many years? There wouldn't be any fraud voters left.
Do you know how many Habitat For Humanity houses just one small nuke would destroy?
What would you do if Saddam nuked all the rehab clinics?

"Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday signed by a hundred celebrities who want President Bush to stop his war rhetoric toward Iraq." Or what?

It amazes me that so many 'international experts' chose to go into acting. Rush had a caller today who had an interesting point.
The caller said that some people are saying that since Rush is an "entertainer" nothing he says should carry any weight. But experts like Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, etc., are so knowledgeable about the state of the world that the rest of us should hang on their every word...
To: Brasky
The sad, and dangerous, thing about celebrities is they have this false perception that what they think is important, when all they really have is a forum founded on the facade of celebrity.

The usual scumbag suspects. We should use the list to round up each and everyone of them and give them a one way ticket to Iraq a day before we nuke it.
