At the news conference that Henry Kissinger gave after being appointed to head the 9/11 probe, he was asked about Saudi Arabia's friendship with America.

He stated that 30 years ago when he was secretary of state, Saudi Arabia was a solid friend of America.

30 years ago Saudi Arabia banned oil exports to the United States.

The oil export ban lasted for 5 months.

Saudi Arabia is some friend, and Kissinger has some memory, as Kissinger wouldn't lie to us, or would he?

Yes he is senile. And who did he marry?

That will answer lots of questions.

30 years ago the US and the Saudi's were good business friends and that was true throughout the 20th century. But that was then and this is now. The Saudi's are digging themselves a deeper hole in relations with the US, day by day.

Back then the Saudis were friends by now their oil money has gone to their head they actually think they earned it and think their insane religion had something to do with it consequently they've been spending a lot of money trying to spread it and for that they must die.

Are you serious, Kissenger was appointed to look into the 9/11 attacks?

Oh my, the guy who lied to the American people day in and day out for years is back in the saddle, this is a sad day for America and the truth.

If you doubt what I say about Henry the K, read the history of the POW/MIA's in Southeast Asia, and then you will begin to understand that we have been shafted again.

Kissinger hasn't deteriorated. He never was much.

As for the Saudis, they have always been friends with the Saudis. They will tolerate or remporarily support us when it serves the purposes of money and security.

Nah he is just thinking about how he is going to blame Clinton for 9/11.

Kissenger's destruction of Bill and Hillary is going to be fun to watch. He can talk about how the Clintons are 10,000 times worse than Watergate. You're gonna love it.

In the 80's (when Reagan was President) King Fahd quietly agreed to soft-peddle the anti-Israeli line and pump a lot of cheap oil. At that time, the major income source for the USSR was oil. When Fahd undersold Gorbachev, the USSR went belly-up.

Yes, in those days, the Saudis were on our side.

Now, Fahd is in a hospital in Switzerland, and his half-mad brother, Clown Prince Abdullah, is running things, and we all know the rest. Does Kissinger?

You and Kissenger must have a lot in common.

I have great respect for Henry K. He is a brilliant man and never was a "yes man". He is a man of principle. He is a patriot. His contributions have been valuable.

Much of the criticism he receives was due to the job description he had. He took the blame for some bad policy decisions that were made by others. He always took them on and made the best of bad situations.

I have often disagreed with him, but I find myself in total agreement more often than not. One thing for sure, when he speaks, I listen closely.

He had been using former Diplomatic Security Service personnel. I wonder when he made the transition?

Not really. Reading Schweizer's recent book documenting the stuff Kissinger pulled privately as recorded in KGB files is a frightening education.

Kissinger is one of the Lefts favorite Republican advisors.

That should tell you something.

Yep. Another professional obfuscator. His 2nd in command is George Mitchell. THAT should tell us something further.

I seem to remember a lot of praise from certain quarters for Kissinger around here when it was reported by the NYT that he was one of the "top republicans" telling Bush not to go to war with Iraq.

Was it principle that caused him to say to to Dobrynin during the communist attack on Angola that in five years itwould make little difference who or what controlled Angola?
