Rob Reiner is a political activist. He toured with Ed Asner and Martin Sheen for Gore-Lieberman 2000, he helped write Gore's recent coming out speech (and attack on our CIC) - the list is long.
Lands' End chose a well-known leftist activist for their Christmas spokeman - to teach us about 'family values'. Our family says, "Goodbye, Lands' End."

Thanks for the heads-up. They've just lost my business.

I believe L.L. Bean owners are pro-life. Better quality clothing too!

You're welcome. We've purchased many items from them over the years, sigh. Cute 'cover dogs' aren't going to cut it during a war against militant Muslims at Christmastime.
If any Freepers know of other stores with objectionable website content or store policies (i.e. not supporting the Boy Scouts or Salvation Army - or hiring Martin Sheen as a spokesman (boycott Ireland (^:), please share.

Here is a copy of my message to Lands End:
Rob Reiner is a very poor choice to represent the values that Christmas represent. He is an avid radical leftist socialist who supports policies that will hurt, not help families. I don't think you know your market as well as you think. Lands End has been a first choice for our family for years...and I live 15 minutes from LLBean. I hope you reconsider your choice and make less divisive, less political choices in the future for your spokesmen.

I just told them to stop all catalogues and that I would no longer purchase from them.

Thank you, e.r.! Hopefully we can send a few former Lands' End customers to LL Bean this year. (^:

I'm glad to know that about LLBean. I prefer their clothes for myself, but I've been dressing my daughter in Lands End all her life. No more!
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Land's End is also a sponsor of leftist Garrison Keillor's Prarie Home Companion show on NPR.

Tom Daschle was all wrong about talk radio. The Dems. assume we don't think for ourselves. Lands' End is making a political statement by choosing Rob Reiner. We are making a free market choice not to support their business...just as we choose by our votes, our time and our $$$ not to support Daschle, Donahue and Al Gore.

I'm glad to know this because I order from Land's End a lot. Too bad. Oh well. Eddie Bauer will be happy to get my next order.

LL Bean is just as anti Christmas as all the major leftist organizations. Where did you ever get the idea that they are pro life?

Land's End is also a sponsor of leftist Garrison Keillor's Prarie Home Companion show on NPR.Thanks for that info. Garrison Keillor's on his nationwide book tour. New Jersey Freepers: Next reading Sunday, Dec. 1, at Bookends bookstore on East Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood, N.J. (1 p.m.). Link.

I sent them an email letting them know how I feel about the Meathead. Needless to say, they wont be getting a dime of my money.
I dont know if LL Bean is more conservative politically or not, but they do have better clothes.
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Ease up on Lands' End, okay? They were looking to save money on costume rental, that's all. Fathead doesn't need padding to play Santa.
