I just checked out LL Bean's website and I found no objectionable info...except that they do go through United Way for some of their charitable giving.

LL Bean's Heritage:
Please note that L.L.Bean is a privately held, family-owned company. We release limited financial and operational information and do not produce an annual report.

LLBean as Employer, sounds good.
Charitable Giving Guidelines.

Do a Google search on "LL Bean, abortion."

Linda Bean and Don Folkers

As listed by GOPAC:

Gave GOPAC (through mid-1993) $10,000

MoJo Notes:

Conservative

Bean is an outspoken opponent of abortion rights, gay rights, and gun control. She is the granddaughter of Leon Leonwood Bean, who started the L. L. Bean mail-order house in Freeport, Maine. She lost a 1992 bid to unseat U.S. Rep. Tom Andrews (D-Maine), although she spent $1 million of her personal fortune trying (Chicago Tribune, 11/5/92). She serves on the board of L. L. Bean, which now grosses more than $600 million a year. Folkers is Bean's husband.

Link, thanks to Mother Jones. (^:

I got an email from Land's End saying they were sorry that I was offended by their choice of Santa Claus and they were removing me from their mailing list. Of course, I am also offended by Rob Reiner's recent attacks on Washington Mutual, in which I own stock. If he is going to attack my stock values, I will attack Land's End's stock values. Besides the issue of Communism versus Christianity, there is also just plain capitalism involved here for me.

A rat friend, who preferred Land's End because they were pro-abortion, hated the political stance of LL Bean. I'll research further.

Here is a copy of my message to Lands End:

I'm sorry, I didn't quite get your response to Lands End, could you post it again, please?

My email to Lands' End:

Rob Reiner as Santa Claus? Please. The man's an ardent, fist-in-the-air socialist and a reliable opponent of every foundational American value. He is an advocate of limitless government meddling and pickpocket confiscation, an enemy of individualism, and a committed collectivist and race-baiter. He runs with a ranting far-left Limousine Liberal crowd that includes Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee who have explicitly advocated obstructionism and violence against their opponents. He'd be much better suited for Robin Hood tights than a Santa Claus outfit.

I've been a Lands End customer for two decades. No more. There are few choices you could have made that could have been more offensive to the spirit of Christmas.

Sears Roebuck used to be one of the great american companies, but everything thay have touched for the last 30 years has turnerd to cr@p.

They bought Lands End, "The Sears of the 21st Century", the hottest marketer around and have instantly screwed it up.

Boycott Sears as Well, they are the owners.

I just e-mailed Lands' End and told them that Rob Reiner as Santa was very offensive as he is a Socialist and completely anti-American. Also said I just tossed their December 2002 catalog in the garbage.

Sears? Oh, no...that was another Christmas staple at our house....tools and multi-packs of men's white socks.

Freeper Christmas business-shopping tips are appreciated.

Here's a really bad Christmas campaign for Freeping and public exposure: Planned Parenthood Christmas Cards, available at the PP website, are celebrating the birth of the Son of God with the slogan "Choice on Earth" (FR link).

Maybe we can all boycott them. I don't know who they think buys their clothes if not for the working middle class. Reiner's rich Socialist friends probably all buy designer clothes from boutiques.

Thanks for the info. No more Sears for me either. Does someone have their email link they can post so we can all email them?
