Re: these old cargo planes.
In Taiwan, in the 60's, my family would occcasionally travel on the local airline, which was composed of frankenstiened pre WWII Goony Birds.
My Dad, being a knowledgable and cautious man would go out and check the engines and chat with the maintenance people before allowing us to board. He would occasionally point out items of concern- bald tires, dangling wires. The response was always the same, nodding heads, smiles and these words...sounding somewhat like: "May oh gwan chee."
Not speaking a word of Chinese, he got into the habit of calling the airline " May oh gwan chee". Years later we discovered that this was NOT the name of the airline. It is Chinese for "No Sweat."

Oh my gosh, it's a good thing your Dad had some knowledge. Those must have been some interesting trips. Were you living in Taiwan for awhile?

The bad and ugly king had a beautiful girl as a captive. Though her beauty shone like a thousand moons (and her moon wasn't so bad either), the dress she was forced to wear was very unbecoming.
She waited day and night, looking out with hope out the dungeon window, searching for the knight who would free her. However, every knight was scared away by her dress, which, as I've said before, was very ugly.
She was crying in hopelessness when the evil king jeered, ....
"See, I told you no knight would rescue a damsel in this dress!!!"

"Whatever way the corners of your mouth turn is how you can expect your day to go." I like this one especially, tom. Good ones.

Hi kari, I'm pretty computer challenged about this kind of stuff, but for myself, my ISP provides, for free, 10 megs of storage space. You might call your ISP and inquire. And there are lots and lots of graphics on the net that don't need to be uploaded. Welcome to the Canteen and happy hunting for graphics. If you find something you want to post and don't know how, give a holler and maybe we can help.

Gravity- It's not just a good idea, it's the LAW!
Why be difficult, when with a bit of effort, you can be impossible?
Life is too complicated in the morning.
All I want is less to do, more time to do it, and higher pay for not getting it done.

OK, a quick lesson. Find the graphic you like. Type this first
< img src=" then type or copy and paste the URL and after the .jpg or .gif end with
" > Give it a whirl. We all started at the exact same place. Take out the space after the < and before the >
I'm still learning, so if anybody knows something easier or better, let us all know.

Were you living in Taiwan for awhile? When we left, Americans loved America, the Catholic Mass was in Latin and Julie Andrews was popping up chimneys.
When we came back, men with hair like women were burning our flag, nuns were wearing mini-skirts and Janis Joplin was shooting up heroin.
My Dad had been morale officer in our compounds in Tainan and Taichung. We had the best Halloweens and 4th of Julys. (We taught the Taiwanese softball and they returned the favor by beating our a$$ in little league championships for decades). We were small town America, with bomb shelters in the back yard, due to our proximity to Red China.
Sometimes my husband has a hard time understanding why I love my country so much. He puts it down to jingoism. I pity his cynicism. He has never understood our "shining city on a hill." Our military does. God Bless Them.

At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the
meaning of the word "service." "The act of doing things for
other people."
Then I heard the terms such as "Internal Revenue Service,"
"Postal Service," "Civil Service," "Service Stations."
And I became confused about the word "service." This is not
what I thought "service" meant.
One day, I overheard two farmers talking and one of them
mentioned that he was having a bull "service" a few of his cows.
It all came into perspective.
