We need to do more of this civil disobedience ala the days of the Civil Rights movement. Can't you picture the outrage of the public at seeing some storm trooper dragging the Ten Commandments out of the courthouse. It might even start a revolution!

I love you man! I actually dreamed this scene last night! It was thrilling. It is brilliant! I will come on down for NYC to 'Bama to fight the American-hating Marxists at the SPLC. All of America will support the effort.

This granite block could achieve a significance on par with the Liberty Bell.

Do we have a government whose moral foundation begins with the 10 commandments...or not? That is the question.

Let's answer that question NOW!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that SCOTUS will not here the case. The ramifications are too high. If they hear it and agree with the lower court, then they obviously look stupid and hypocritical. If they hear it and overturn the decision, that would set the stage for all sorts of new legal challenges.

Perhaps. I have been waiting for an issue to come up where a State will not back down from the Feds. Doubt this is it, but I can hope.

And you know the people who end up protecting the commandments and the judge will be on the "right side of history" as a noted TRIPOTUS once said.

>>I keep wondering what happens if he refuses the "order". Do they send the U.S. Marshalls in? Homeland Security Officers?

Won't they have to bring a bunch of Bubbas with constrution equipment? Aren't the Commandments on a multi-ton rock?

They might have a hard time finding a willing contractor in AL.

Even if Judge Moore loses this battle, he wins.

He demonstrates his integrity for standing up to childish foes who have themselves all in a twitter over a document up which laws and morality throughout centuries are based upon.

Secondly, even if he is to lose this fight on an eartly basis--I am quite certain that God Himself is looking upon this man's actions with favor. Both the Old and New Testaments are full of stories where God's law and His purpose emerge ever stronger in the face of opression.

"If they don't show sense, they'll have to ditch all that "God save this honorable court" stuff."

Plus they'll have to done some stone removeal of their own. As you enter the front door of the supreeme court building on your right (if I remember correctly) You see the ten comdments etched in stone on the wall.

From what I've heard, the thing is a huge stone block. They aren't going to drag it out except in pieces. Now that would be an image, some state-ordered goons jackhammering the Ten Commandments. It would be an image that would stick in the minds of people, like the stormtrooper shoving his rife in Elian's face. Reemmebr the outrage about the Taliban dynamiting the statues of Buddha?

I don't think SCOTUS will hear it. Stripping everything of Religion based documents/artifats is the denial of ANY/ALL religous leanings. That was not the intention of the United States where ALL religions would be allowed.

Do they send the U.S. Marshalls in? Homeland Security Officers?

Ultimately, it is the executive branch of government that will have to enforce this
order. Who's the chief executive? I cannot imagine President Bush gaining any
political capital by enforcing such a cockamamie order.
