WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Marcy Kaptur, an Ohio Democrat, entered the race Wednesday for House minority leader -- one day before her colleagues are to vote on whom they want to lead them in next year's Congress.

Kaptur, 56, joins California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, 62, who says she has the race wrapped up, and Rep. Harold Ford Jr., 32, of Tennessee, who says he represents the kind of change needed in the Democratic Party -- especially after the midterm elections in which Democrats lost House seats.

This is not good news

While Kaptur is a Socialist and almost as loony lefty as Pelosi - she is only in this for one reason, to siphon votes from Pelosi so Ford can win.

While the Pelosi, Waters, spaceman-lee, conyers group etc etc think this is their chance to take control of the party. There are some of that Loony-tunes group like Kaptur who realize that they must have a centrist as the "Face" of the party. These are the dangerous ones.

Kaptur and her crowd realize that Pelosi will be the final stake through the parties heart, while Ford will be their chance to regain power. They don't have to agree with Ford to understand he is best for them.

"give voice to the reform wing of the Caucus"

And which "Caucus" would that be ... the Progressive Caucus?? Which you all know, of course, is really the SOCIALIST PARTY here in the USA. If they are both members, this will be a cat fight. If it heads in that direction, I believe Ford will get even more votes than he already has.

Also ... I noticed Ms. Kaptur is already talking about "a federal national health insurance plan for small businesses". Isn't that the plan which just failed in Oregon with only a 20% yes vote??

These 2 women are totally out of touch. Typical!

Looks like Comrade Pelosis' self coronation has pissed off blacks and moderates in the rat party to such a degree that they won't vote for her in a secret ballot.

Comrade Kaptur, another DSA member, is entering the race to throw it to Ford, she knows the rats will be commiting political suicide if they start actually telling the truth about what they want to do to the USA.

You would think that a majority of the rats would understand this, but you have to realize that if they had any brains they wouldn't be democrats in the first place.

I said it the first day Pelosi announced and I'll say it again today.

Pelosi as minority leader is too good to be true.

It's not going to happen.

She is going to be backstabbed.

Interesting points there. I just watched some of Ford's press conference earlier today and what struck me are the numbers of non-drooling, mature-looking, clean Rotarian Democrooks surrounding young Harold. These guys looked so well-scrubbed, I confused them for people going to work at a real job.

Kidding aside, I was impressed by the fact that these particular Democrats get it. Some of those guys know full well they represent their districts by the grace of God and if the creepo Stalinist wing of the party takes of in the House, it's buh-buy House seat.

A part of me really, really wants Pelosi to win. Her faction are notoriously inept, strongly disliked by all who encounter them in Congress and would, by their fanaticism and hatred of American institutions and their people, send their party into the nether reaches of the political continuum.

However, I fear for our country if these Stalinists are given a voice beyond the margins they heretofore inhabit. As an ex-communist who hung out with some of these cats, I know full well what they're capable of.

Ford's slick—a good BS artist, and may be a big problem in the future, but at least I take comfort in knowing he's not going to throw me into a gulag. Pelosi and her crew would, if they could.

Looks like there's going to be a cat fight.

I'd like to see a b*tch-slap fest in the House parking lot. Throw in Barney Frank too. Gerald Nadler can referee. What an irrelevant freak show the dimo party has become.

Denocrats with class (Miller, Breaux, etc.) really ought to join the party of the adults, and let the party of midget intellects sail off into oblivion.

Yeah, nothing is more dangerous than socialists in charge of law enforcement.

Leftists don't believe in free speech.

Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. Partial Text: Prepared Remarks to Democratic Convention Aug. 15 — Harold Ford, Jr., a young congressman from Al Gore’s home state of Tennessee, delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention. .....

I say to all those of this new generation and to all Americans who share in our spirit: if you want a future that belongs to you — if you want a future that is for everyone — then join with us to make Al Gore and Joe Lieberman the next President and Vice President of the United States.

At this critical time, America needs Al Gore. I remember the fear many of my college classmates in Pennsylvania faced when we graduated eight years ago. For many of us, finding a good job was tough. Well, eight years and 22 million jobs later, the future is something to get excited about again.

But some in the other party would have us go back. Back to a past where prosperity touches only the well-off and well-connected. Back to a past where children learn from outdated textbooks and parents can’t scrape together the money to send their kids to college. Back to a past where polluters write our environmental laws. Back to a past where politicians run up enormous deficits, run factories out of business, and run the economy into the ground.

We have a very different vision of the future. Al Gore and Joe Lieberman believe the future is for everyone.

Imagine a debt-free economy so strong that everyone shares in the American Dream. Imagine a healthcare system where every American receives the medicine they need, and where no senior is forced to choose between buying food and filling a prescription. Imagine a society that treats seniors with the respect and dignity they deserve, and where Social Security and Medicare are strengthened, not only for our parents and grandparents, but for our children and grandchildren. Imagine a nation of clean coastlines, safe drinking water, pristine parks, and air our kids can breathe as they play in those parks.

We all recognize that no issue is more critical to our nation’s continued success than how we educate our kids. If we can find the will and resources to build prison after prison, then we can build new schools, reduce class sizes, connect every classroom up to the Internet. Surely we can pay teachers what they are worth — surely we must hold schools accountable for results. Imagine giving all our kids the world-class education they deserve. full transcript

< . Thank you and God bless you.

Perhaps we see Pelosi as an"in your face" liberal but behind the "prepared speeches" repetitive on all the networks..is Ford any different? or is this just a smooooooth masquerade?

"she is pro-life"

According to National Right To Life, Kaptur only votes pro-life 40% of the time. The other 60% of her votes go to the pro-aborts.
