In perilous times such as these, filled with Breaking News on practically an hourly basis, words of war, debate about the war, an upcoming election, and scandal after scandal foisted upon this country, it is time that we FR "regulars" share helpful hints and recipes to get us through these busy days and nights ahead, logged on to FR continuously, all the while trying to maintain a "real life" -- or, at the very least, trying to maintain the appearance of one!
Please use this thread to share your experiences -- "what worked for you," if you will -- of past elections and breaking news cycles, in order to help our newest forum members understand what is coming their way -- and the preparations they must make in order to survive and still have somewhat of a life (not to mention brain) in tact after November 5th and the days that follow.
Realizing that new blood brings fresh ideas, us "old-timers" are open to any and all suggestions from any current Freepers who may have a better idea!
This IS the thread for
"Food for Breaking News"
and
"Helpful Household Tips to Free Up Time to Freep."

Tip #1(as was the case in 2000)-earnest and fervent prayer!

Those Funeral homes providing their Limo transportation wouldn't be going to Nursing Homes to drive the residents to the polls, would they? Naahhh...no one could be that tacky? LOL?

I've got a question...That new voter legislation that the president signed, does it apply to this election? Are polling places required to ask for some form of ID? And if so, what can we do if we see they're not asking for any?

FR Goes to the Mattresses Ahem, buying votes with tail?

Remeber what www.mrc.org reported how in 2000 all democrat wins were called in an hour all Republican wins took at least two hours.
Look for a quick its all over speech from ABC CBS NBC CNN over the NH race. They will call SOME race for the Democrat's first and proclaim it an indicator of things to come.
IGNORE THE MEDIA: VOTE VOTE VOTE
WE MUST VOTE
WE MUST VOTE
WE MUST VOTE
(on a side note: whats with the info-hags of CNN? too many facelifts?)
WE MUST VOTE

Spray Maximum Strength X-14 in your bathroom sinks, tubs, (house will smell clean for hours) and when your family walks in they'll think you have been toiling all day. HEHEHE...
And don't forget to pray, pray, pray!
Great thread, Howlin. Thanks!

Oh, now there's a good idea; we need a LIST of all the networks' phone numbers so we can call and complain! And email addresses!

I hope that Jim's prepared for an attack against the server. I know that the traffic here will practically bring this thing to it's knees just with the Freepers who will be checking in.
I think the DOJ has people out because of all the voter fraud that went on last time, I hope they net some of the big fish this time.

Remember back in 2000 when we didn't know what was coming? My, we were innocent, weren't we?
I also remember BELIEVING that when Clinton left office we'd never see HIM, HER, or any of THEM again. *Sigh*

Glad you saw it- FD is a lot smaller than FR, but they are very friendly over there, and have gotten a number of our members to sign up- especially yesterday!
Tomorrow, I'm going to put my head down, go vote, and ignore the media. My only data will come off the 'net and "talkback" radio.

What are we going to do if FR goes down? Where will we meet?
To: Howlin
You have to be able to compartmentalize your attention.
There are some things that will not wait until after the elections.
Any good conservative is going to give their boss the days work, unless they take vacation, that is expected of them. You also want to stay current on what is going on, especially during a breaking news, or election, cycle.
You have to be able to put that aside when work calls and come back to it in the off time.
