"Bottom Line" - Senate Race Score Card!
FR | 11/03/02 | LibFreeUSA

Posted on 11/03/2002 4:01:44 PM PST by LibFreeUSA

Tks for all previous help in providing me with the quick reference information. Here is a 'bottom line' look at the Senate Race for everyone's score card...

TOTAL 34 – Senate Seats up for Election
· 20 – Republican
· 14 – Democrat

13 of these are “Contested”
· 7 – Republican Seats
· 6 – Democrat Seats

5 of these are looking “Safe”
· 4 – Republican (TX, TN, OR, NC)
· 1 – Democrat (NJ)

8 of these are looking “TossUp”
· 3 – Republican (NH, AR, CO)
· 5 – Democrat (MO, MN, SD, GA, LA)

Seems like the Democraps have MORE to WORRY about than the Republicans. But, you wouldn't know it from the media's way of portraying this. If this were reversed, the BIG QUESTION would be..."can the Democrats RETAKE the Senate!"

The media has taken NC and TX out of the "safe" category today. Juan Williams predicted Dole would lose and nearly said the same thing about Conryn. He dominated the Fox panel today so it was hard to get the opinions of the others. Of course the Capitol Gang predicted a Dem sweep! I wonder about these recent polls, they seem to have changed dramatically. I'm sure Dick Morris will be calling most for Democrats! I just got an e-mail stating that Jeb Bush is concerned about the get-out-the-vote plans for black voters in Florida (and the fraud, too). Is he "safe" yet or can they still win that one for Terry McA?

I heard that Louisiana will most likely have a run-off race. IMHO, a run-off race would be good for the GOP, because that gives the conservative media one race to focus on. Conservatives are devastating when allowed to focus.

This liberal spin about 'safe' races could end up being ice water on their backs. It could be the 98 election in reverse. Let us pray that is so. FReegards....

If anyone has time to start an icq blitz, New Hampshire would be the best bang for the buck. FReegards....

Jeb BUSH is now, in my opinion, a virtual lock in the state of Florida. McBRIBE knew what it would take to unseat him and either didn't have the ability or the will to do so. This is one chip that McAULIFFE will not be bringing back to Bill CLINTON's Harlem office.

I no longer listen to Zogby.

Why ? Is polling track record is as good as any others. Polling is a good science that indicates where people are and Zogby does it well. Is that you don't like what his the results of his polls ?

Nice breakdown, but it is a bit bias. I would not be surprised by anywhere from a GOP pickup of 4 to a Dem pickup of 4. The polls are meaningless, it is who gets out and votes. Although in MN, I think the disadvantage that Mondale has in the absentee ballots maybe what bites him in the butt (which could give Coleman as much as a 2-3 point handicap). The House appears to be safely GOP, where the GOP should pick up just a few seats.

The wild card that makes most of this meaningless is how many illegal votes the Democrats can muster and how many legal Republican votes the Democrats can hide or kill. Democrats are evil and desperate to maintain power.

DALLAS MORNING NEWS (11/03/02) - Cornyn leads in latest DMN poll

"Republican John Cornyn, holding the edge in a new Senate poll, blitzed GOP strongholds Saturday with Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison as Democrat Ron Kirk tried to close the gap by letting Stevie Wonder sing his praises. Mr. Cornyn leads Mr. Kirk 50 percent to 41 percent among likely voters, according to a Dallas Morning News poll."

Juan Williams is a nice guy but he is a liberal, DemocRAT, NPR A$$hole. You could go broke betting on his opinion. Had Brit been on the panel rather than the host, he would have clipped Juan's wings just like he does on just about every Sunday.
