Just saw an ad on TV for tomorrow's Oprah Winfrey show stating that Michael Moore will be on to talk about why "more Americans kill each other with guns than anywhere else on earth". I don't doubt that it'll be a gun-grabber-gab-fest, but we should know what the sucker mom's are being exposed to.

If he has an answer for Oprah, he didn't have one in the movie.
(Yes, I saw it. My GF wanted to see it, so we headed down to the inner-city arty movie theater. I wore my "Gun of the Month Club" t-shirt.)

Good think Oprah lost all that weight, or they'd have to back up to pretty far to get them both on camera.

Good thing...

why "more Americans kill each other with guns than anywhere else on earth". Was that his phraseology? "Americans" are not a place. Nor are "guns". The statement as written makes no sense.
Further, I think the murder rate in South Africa makes ours look pretty darned tame by comparison.

That quote was from Winfrey in the commercial. I'm not sure if she was quoting Moore, or if it was her own phrasing. It sounded like the latter to me, though.

I wrote the original post about ten minutes after the commercial aired, so I might have paraphrased, but it's very close to what she said, if not exact.

...I don't doubt that it'll be a gun-grabber-gab-fest...Is Moore a gun-grabber? Depite his K-mart/gun publicity stunt, I'm not so sure.
I just saw Moore for a minute on the Donahue show a couple days ago, and he made clear that he thought gun control wasn't the answer.
He started saying something about the "violent psyche" of the US or something that was the cause.

I'm playing the odds. Given Moore's past behavior, Operah's demeanor in the commercial, and her target audience, I think I have reason to be suspicious.
To: Flashlight
He was on a local morning news show recently plugging his movie, spitting and sputtering and nine kinds of angry.
The host asked him, "If you had your way, what would you do?"
He said he would like to see the elimination of handguns.

Your both right. He wants to take guns away not beause he things guns are bad, but he thinks that Americans can't be trusted with guns and compares Canada's per capita ownership of weapons to gun deaths vs the American numbers. Per Capita Canadains and Americans own the same number of weapos but americans kill eacher with them at huge levels. Canadan gun murders are very rare.
His motto is you can trust the gun but not the American people who own them or something like that.
I have not seen the movie, just relaying what I heard him say, not my opinion.

I don't know about where you live, but Oprah's show is syndicated on a local station where I live and the next one doesn't air till Monday.
To: Hillarys Gate Cult
I knew it was syndicated, but didn't know local stations could push the air time off more than 24hrs per episode. The
website says it airs today, so I presume that'll be for most markets.
