I once encountered Paul Begala at a Barnes and Noble here in Austin. It was one of the creepiest things I have ever seen.

This past July we stayed at the Excelsior Hotel in Jefferson Texas built in 1850. I ask for the haunted room. About 2:30 am my husband got up to go the the bathroom. When he came back into the bedroom he shreaked. He said all of the hairs on his body stood straight up for no apparent reason. He came back to bed & just after he turned off the light I felt a man's beard brushing the side of my face (my husband is clean shaven). I immediately brushed my face with my hand looking for what had cause the sensation. There was nothing there. In the room was a small book where occupants who slept in the room could write their experiences. One of the experiences written in the book, was the feeling of a beard brushing a womans face.

Today I had a freaked out engineer, a shrieking materials scientist, a sullen V.P. and a really sexy manager swirling around me all day. None could summon the mojo to get things to work! Boo!Simple scientific explanation viewed by this public schools escapee. The sexy manager distracted everyone else. Sleep well.

Paranormal phenomena?
Yeah, listening to Mondale and Lautenberg try to string a sentence together is as far beyond nomral as it gets.

It is serious to Wiccans. I used to live in Manitou Springs, Colorado, one of their "preferred" holy sites, and until the Christians really came together to deal with them, there was an influx at this time of year every year. People's pets would turn up missing and there was all kinds of mischief went on. You never actually saw much because they took their ceremonies to the surrounding foothills.
One year there were satanists caught holding a ceremony in our church.

There were 3 people that had died in that house (as far I know). A great Aunt whom I had never met, my great grandmother, and my grandfather.
I had other things occur in that house.
1) It was cold, and the bedroom door wasn't balanced, and it would close on its own. I wanted the heat from the living room to be able to get into it (my grandmother's bedroom). I placed my work shoes in front of the door to hold the door open. But, when I woke up, it was cold and the door was shut. ( just thought okaaay) No biggy but weird
2) This next one was perhaps the worst. My grandmother was back home. I had been asleep upstairs. I woke up in the middle of the night. I didn't see anything at first, but as I lay there, and was just about to drift off again, I saw this 'figure', hovering above me. As I watched it, it got further and further away.
I had almost drifted off to sleep again, when I opened my eyes and again, it wasn't readily visible, but as I watched, it came into view and again seemed to drift further and further away from me. At about this time, I noticed that this 'figure' seemed to be in the approximate position that I had been in.
My thought was, is this how 'spirits' enter a body for posession? I tried to yell out to my grandmother that was downstairs sleeping but, nothing came out, and I couldn't move.
About this time, I remembered something from the Bible. I tried to relax and whether I said the words or merely thought them I don't recall, but I said 'In the name of Jesus Christ, leave me alone!' The 'figure' vanished completely. I was able to move, grabbed my blanket and flew down the stairs as fast as I could. It's a small wonder I didn't fall down the stairs.
My grandmother came out of her room, and said, I looked like I had seen a ghost! lol
I told her what happened. I slept on the sofa that night, too. She said that she had had a few incidents herself. Mostly after my grandfather had passed away. She said that there were times when she could feel the side of her bed sink down, as if someone were sitting on the edge. She just figured it was grandpa.

Nonsense....lots of weird stuff goes on in this world. Some Calvinists don't like talking about this stuff, but neither do some Catholics, some Baptists etc.
As for me, I find the spooky and unexplained events that happen to be quite intriguing.
I have never encountered anything myself, however.

I'm having one right now. A house full of thirteen year olds that look like death warmed over. My son's girlfriend is mad that two other girls are here that she doesn't like, her mother has threatened me with a future of no grand children if my son's breaks her little girls heart.
The windows are rattling to some strange music, and the floor is jumping, screaming and laughter is going on, plates are breaking. I have turned my back on the entire happening by getting on the computer. Should I hire an exorcist? Should I be (gulp) afraid? =oO

I've been hearing those sounds too, but I just
thought it was the students at Life University.
