But.... did that girl die an early violent death?
Sometimes you just get premonitions and you just blurt them out. Been there done that. Worked with a guy that roofing a two story farmhouse. I had asked if he was using a tether. He said yes but that it was cutting in to him, and that later that day when he would work on the roof that he wasn't going to use. I just blurted, 'you're going to fall off the roof.'
He chide me of course, but I kept telling him to wear the tether. He didn't. And he fell off the roof. Broke most of the bones in his face, broke his wrist and an ankle.
Another time, my sister was going to meet me halfway between her house and mine. Just before hanging up, I told her, by the way, if you happen to see a deer, slow down, and if possible come to a complete stop, since they often travel in pairs.
When she met me, the first thing she said was 'You aren't going to believe this, but on the way, I saw a deer and remembered what you said, so I stopped, and two more deer ran out in front of me. If I hadn t stopped I'd have them.
Same type of thing with the shuttle Challenger. I was at a friends and we were watching the news, the night before launch. My friend said that teacher was nuts, leaving her kids behind and all. I said yep, that thing could blow up tomorrow. I was at work when it was announced over the PA, and the hair on my arms and at the back of my neck stood on end.

"Happy Halloween! Have any FReepers experienced paranormal phenomena?" Yes...its election time again in Illinois and people, the dead, and their pets will be voting for Democrats en masse...twice!
Plus...theres voices in my head are telling me that this is the year people will wake up and show some sense...
(And that the Cubs will be better this year /sarcasm)

But...it wasn't the first time that I should have been dead, nor the last. Had a few of those type of incidents myself. Makes ya wonder doesn't it? Must be some truth to, 'just wasn't your time.'

That was BEAUTIFUL, abner. Usually the nurses at the nursing homes are very well aware of supernatural things that happen when a patient is ready to "cross over". Some will talk about it, if pressed, but others remain silent. Bless her for telling your family.

Her story had a huge effect on me. It was a complete surprise when she went out of her way to tell us. I had never met this woman. I think it had a profound effect on her too.

If you want to have a sleepless night, go and stay in the "Hotel del Sol" in Cadiz, Spain. In room 14 is something that will shake your bed every time you nod off to sleep. Moves the furniture too. How much does it move the furniture?

I've experienced this a few times. The first one scared the hell out of me until I reasoned my way through it. I saw a very realistic figure standing over my bed, looking down at me. It was as 'real' as anything could be. When I tried to speak I found I couldn't. Only by willing myself to full consciousness was I able to let loose a yell, and of course when I did the 'apparition' vanished. I finally realized it was a very vivid semi-conscious dream state brought on by stress. I'm sure this is what many 'ghost' stories are based on.

I'm not sure about UFO's but the issue with ghosts, I have lots of experience with. I have not seen one, visibly, but have observed them come into contact with physical objects. It can be very frightening since you're totally not expecting it.
My wife and daughter, and a friend of mine, have seen ghosts numerous times...well, my daughter once since she's only 2 1/2 yrs old. That incident involved a very bright white figure walking through the kitchen into the dining room and then disappearing. I was in the bedroom and missed it, but have plenty enough encounters, both evil and good, to fill these pages.

I don't wonder at all.
There is a God.
He does love us.

Since you bring up deer, one night several months ago, I was headed home from the store, late at night after work. I live near the edge of my city, near the hills which are filled with deer. This guy was tailing me pretty close, and I'm usually not a slow driver but it was dark, the road was curvy and not in good shape, and there are deer signs every once in a while so I wanted to take it easy.
I did blurt it out that one day, somebody like him is going to pass me, go on down the road and plow into a deer. You can guess what happened next...
A 2nd time, I was coming home and driving up a grade, coming over the hill next to where I live, and also where the deer sometimes like to graze. It just happens that at that particular time of year and time of day, the sun is coaligned with the road leading up the hill, making it impossible to see straight. Of course, I am thinking that one of these days, there will be a deer there and I will hit it. Not surprising, when I got closer I noticed something slightly obscuring the sun, it was antlers...there was a group of deer crossing the road right then that I would've hit if I maintained my speed.
