Fine. I think it's a silly overreaction.

Those who know me know I am hardly a prude. I've been told I can swear like a marine sargeant. But on national television (even if it is cable), and to even suggest the President is acting like, etc., is just bad taste. There's tact and there's bad taste. This was a case of the latter.

You posted right before my reply. Sorry about that. But let's see if FOX edits it out in the repeat...

I was in tonight training for counting absentee ballots and a discussion came up that was very distressing. I don't know if this situation is peculiar to Arkansas or if the same situation exists in other states as well. The woman who was directing the seminar said it takes 8 years to get someone who is deseased off the voter rolls...and that is if they remain inactive after they die, and we know that most Rat voters tend to reanimate to make the polls on election day, or at least to return an absentee ballot. This is a gaping loophole that Rats take advantage of bigtime. And there seems to be no way to prevent it.

Mrs. Slocombe was always referring to her pussy (as in her cat) but always meant it precisely for the double entendre. Silly fun show. "Mrs. Slocombe" ... double entendre, indeed.

Didn't Bush call somebody an asshole during the campaign a few years ago?

Just my own opinion here...
Morris said the President was "acting like a pussy", the context seeming to be W's willingness to continue "diplomatic discussion" with the French, instead of just telling them where to get off (no "double entendre" intended there), and also W's campaigning, which Morris seems to think is a rather un-presidential activity in these serious times, to be attributed to the President's "desperation" to keep/win back Congress (considering the Lautenberg/Mondale double threat, I'm sure we'd all be profoundly depressed if those two were elected to the Senate, but not for the reasons Morris seems to think...you sane intelligent and informed people all get out there and VOTE, OK?!?!!! Hold your nose if needed, but go G.O.P...)
Back on topic...the word "pussy" has a variety of "slang" meanings(although "cat" is the only definition listed in my F & W), and while Morris' usage of the word is less than elegant, his meaning was clear...he should have used "wimp" or "wussy" instead, but there's really no such thing as "the 'P' word"! (that's just in my vernacular, though...)

This rank right up there with complaints about "niggardly" and "snigger". Words have meanings and uses. This word was used correctly. He could have said wimp, he used pussy instead. The meaning was clear and appropriate. Morris thinks Bush should toughen up. I sure hope he's wrong about that. The vulgar usage for this word can not possibly be assumed in the context of his remarks.

Cheney informed Bush during the campaign that Adam Clymer from the
New York Times was an asshole, and it went out live over a microphone. (It should be noted that nobody from the
Times or the press corps at large disagreed.) Since then, the FR word for "asshole" has been "clymer".
I suppose that means that the FR word for "pussy" will now be "morris".

Did he do it on a nationally televised program? I heard him almost use the S-word a few months ago. He said something like, '...all that sh... (pause) stuff. (laughter). It was during a press conference.

Awww! Too cute! I may have to borrow that one.

I agree. "Pussy" is a naughty double-entendre at best. It is used frequently on one of my favorite old British sit-coms, "Are You Being Served". And those shows are twenty to thirty years old. It always evokes a laugh from me.
You are right -- context is everything.

Yea, I thought thats what I heard. But like they always say, (It takes one to know one).
I've always thought that he should have been named Pus, yes Pus Morris. And when he was on Greta's show when she first started on Fox, you could tell what a balllest pus he is.

"There's tact and there's bad taste. This was a case of the latter." No doubt about it. It really is a reflection of the coarsening of our society and it doesn't reflect well on us. But then, when you consider the source, I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. What is the saying about laying down with dogs and getting up with fleas?

Man I can feel the morris jokes stacking up like airplanes at JFK.

I changed my mind, I think Dicky boy is trying to screw us over, I was thinking he let the word slip out out of frustration cause he was on "our side", and here, dicky boy, the "Ultimate Poll Watcher" tries to convince Bush to not campaign for people...hmmmmmmm??? I agree. Morris knows polling, and he knows that there isn't much difference between 60% & 67%. He also knows that Gallup is listing that 67% as (I believe) the highest rating at this point in his presidency of any modern president Another listed his numbers as the highes at this point since Kennedey
Now why would Morris hint that it's a mistake to take that 67% out for a spin?
Both Clinton and Reagan were at 48% in the same poll two years into their terms and they each lost a number of seats. Now, there is a huge difference between 48% and 67%, isn't there?

The President is coming in here to WV this Thursday...on Halloween...to stump for Jay Wolfe and Shelley Moore Capito.
The state is buzzing...the Civic Center holds 8000, and there is no doubt in my mind that it is going to be as full as the Secret Service will allow it to be...(hopefully to the rafters!)
Presi Bush WOULD be a p*ssy if he sat in the Rose Garden and let our GOP candidates hang in the final days leading into an Election that is going to have HUGE impact on governance for the next 2 years and much longer....BUT HE'S NOT!
Senator Byrd-brain the peacenik Bush-hater has been running ads in support of the Marxist DemocRAT Congressional candidate Humphreys, that are condescendingly snide towards the President and his policies--particularly his foreign policy...and the President is coming to stick a finger in the senile old coot's eyeball. For that, I salute the Commander-in-Chief.
If the grassroots organization we have built draws the kind of energy from this event that I think it is going to, and manages to confound the 'experts' by defeating Rockefeller next Tuesday, I for one will be very grateful to the President for a very long time.
Dick Morris is the one who was given the wrong-gendered given name at birth, IMO.
