Just my own opinion here...

Morris said the President was "acting like a pussy", the context seeming to be W's willingness to continue "diplomatic discussion" with the French, instead of just telling them where to get off (no "double entendre" intended there), and also W's campaigning, which Morris seems to think is a rather un-presidential activity in these serious times, to be attributed to the President's "desperation" to keep/win back Congress (considering the Lautenberg/Mondale double threat, I'm sure we'd all be profoundly depressed if those two were elected to the Senate, but not for the reasons Morris seems to think...you sane intelligent and informed people all get out there and VOTE, OK?!?!!! Hold your nose if needed, but go G.O.P...)

Back on topic...the word "pussy" has a variety of "slang" meanings(although "cat" is the only definition listed in my F & W), and while Morris' usage of the word is less than elegant, his meaning was clear...he should have used "wimp" or "wussy" instead, but there's really no such thing as "the 'P' word"! (that's just in my vernacular, though...)

I agree. "Pussy" is a naughty double-entendre at best. It is used frequently on one of my favorite old British sit-coms, "Are You Being Served". And those shows are twenty to thirty years old. It always evokes a laugh from me.

You are right -- context is everything.

Oh please! Don't you think you could spin a little faster than that?
