A couple of thoughts, besides the obvious heinousness of these disgusting and absolutely tasteless accusations:

In any aircraft accident, it is standard procedure for the manufacturer of the accident aircraft to include their systems and airframe representatives on the investigation team. THe NTSB expects it. Sheesh. These people turn my stomach.

Have at it, fellow FReepers. It didn't take long, did it? Looking at the early threads that covered the crash, I saw lots of prayers sent for the victims, and a lot of human decency. As it should be. I, too, disagreed with everything he stoof got, but was not for a MOMENT pleased in any way that he, his wife and daughter, and the other five people lost their lives in such a horrible way. I understand that Wellstone was a white-knuckle flier, and I pray that God's grace kept them from fear.

...a twin-engine turboprop King Air manufactured by Raytheon Aircraft.

"We have the aircraft... It is off the street."

OK. I suppose that was in poor taste. :-)

If you did as much drugs as many of these Democrats, you would be full of fear and paranoia too. They will be easy pickings for Satan's end time deceptions, if they don't get right with Christ soon.

I think somebody ought to start looking seriously at the question of why all those leftwing lunatics knew Wellstone was going to be assassinated? Hmmmm!?!?!?

IF these people think the 'Pubies offed Wellstone for their political advantage, they've got their heads up their clymers - big time. If they were going to do something like that - I would think they'd do it where there was a Senator with 4 years left in their term, and a lock to replace a Dem with a Pubie. Fer cryin' out loud...

What utter BS. The Dems are the ones better off now--maybe Torricelli is the only one who finally listened to "reason".

This is so hard to keep straight. The NY Times and Washington Post, which I know are scrupulously unbiased and never wrong, keep telling me that we are the narrow-minded, hateful, paranoid ones, but when I read something like this it almost makes me question their objectivity.

They have no shame. None!

This will increase the sympathy factor and drive more Dims to the polls.

I heard a man on FNC just say, "Now it would take a MIRACLE for the Republicans to take back the Senate."

Every time we get a close race, their side dies and our side has to step aside - out of respect.

My first hunch about Sen. Wellstone's tragic plane crash less than two weeks before this pivotal election is that the plane was tampered with by right-wingers, possibly the CIA.
Oh, yeah. Because Tenat's Baghdad-is-no-threat CIA is so right-wing.

See, it all started with another funeral that somehow the Republicans were responsible. In cahoots with the funeral home for scheduling purposes and meteorologists who had the long-range forecast for Minnesota all planned out for a convenient excuse of "weather-related problems", it was all an elaborate plan from the beginning. So when Raytheon Aircraft intentionally sabotaged the plane, complete with a suicidal religious nut for a pilot, and an un-unionized mechanic, it was easy pickings, and this time no widow to keep his seat.

VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY, INDEED!

THe Liberals as is their usual tasteless, incompassionate, selfish, uncouth, slimy, crevice dwelling nature, are using the accidental death of one of their very own treasured socialist to amplify the stench of their already odorus, anything goes, desperation drive to hang onto the power they need to destroy the system they loathe. We Republicans tried to be nice and extended our sympathy to and prayers for the families of the crash victims, and as usual the Slimeberals mistook compassion for weakness. Let them bury their own dead and let us move on with every ounce of our strength and committment to elect the same live Republican, that we considered preferrable to a live Wellstone, and not surrender the fight to the deceased or to a replacement with one foot in the grave and the other of ice, so the libs can then appoint someone who could never have gotten themselves elect.

THe battle goes on and we must win it.

My opinion is that Wellstone was, in fact, murdered. He was killed by Hillie Clinton because her stealth polling told her that Wellstone was now likely to win. When she runs for President in 2008, she does not want a more attractive candidate to the left of her.

She had the motive. With family resources, she had the means and, at this time/place, she had the opportunity. She also seems to being suffering a major defeat with her support of McCall in New York state

Check out the people doing the NTSB and FBI investigations of the crash. Note how many of the are connected with or beholden to Willie and his administration. The crash report will be a whitewash and questions about contaminated fuel, malfunctioning instruments, drugged pilots, and so on will be glibbly answered. It will look a lot like the report of the TWA Flt 800 shoot down.

No, I believe she killed him to get him out of the picture at an opportune moment.

I guess I can understand the Left seeking to exploit this tragedy for political gain, because that's what leftists do, but for once they might want to think their words and actions all the way through to the end before they get too out of control.

Some of the garbage they have begun to spew, if they don't rein it in, could be actionable. And somebody could make an argument (and I'm not saying I believe this) that it's strange that two of the rat candidates that were looking at very possible defeat, died with just enough time left before the election to garner a sympathy vote from the sheeple for the replacement rat that the rats managed to dredge up from the rat replacement pool.

Voice recorder read-out. (actually they don't have them on this small an aircraft.)

Captain: Senator, the weather is below minimums. We better go to our alternate.
Senator: What do you mean? I am a US SENATOR. We will land. That is my order. I am chartering this plane!
Captain: But senator...It is not safe...
Senator: I'll decide what is safe. I am a US SENATOR. Go in and land.
Captain: But...but
Senator: Do it Damn it.
Recording ends..................

I love these dopey Democrats. If they would look at this situation logically, they would ask Daschle whether he cut the fuel line on Wellstone's plane. If Republicans knew that plane was going to go down, they would have raised a state-wide safety net to break its fall. Why? It's very likely that Wellstone would have lost. With his death will come some silly stand in that will garner all the sympathy vote of soccer moms and muddle-headed indies, who think that a Senator's death should be followed by the appointment of a unqualified stand-in. Wellstone's death ensures that the Democrats will hold the seat. If motive alone is powerful enough to prosecute, they should lead Daschle away in handcuffs. And while a rationale person couldn't blame Daschle, the same person couldn't deny the guy's obvious lust for power, and the likelihood that he sees this tragedy as just the break he needs to keep the Senate.
