Question about Voter Registration.

Posted on 10/25/2002 9:09:08 PM PDT by ConservativeMan55

I have many friends who I know would vote Republican if they would only get out and vote. Problem is, whenever I ask them why they won't vote, most of the time they come up with an excuse about how they don't know where they are registered, or say that they're vote doesn't count. I know its different for each state, but is there a place where you can find out which polling station you are supposed to vote at?

It should be listed on your voter registration card. At least in my state it is.

Call the local County Board of Elections here in Oklahoma. If you need a number, let me know and I will get it for you! We need every Republican vote here in Oklahoma!

I cannot believe this is an issue for brain functional adults. It is no wonder that conservatives are having such an uphill struggle in Washington D.C. I would be humiliated to admit that I did not know where to vote or how to attain that information. I'll bet they know where the nearest Wal-Mart is.

...they're vote doesn't count...

After Election 2000, I'd think everyone would know better.

Yes the number for the County Elections Board would be awesome!
I know that if I push on these "Swing Voters" enough they will vote, but its gonna take some work.

City hall is the place to go in small communities. The city clerk is a wealth of info. Polling places are given to the voter upon registration. Voters do not remain on the rolls if they do not vote for a long period of time, so your friends are probably not registered.

Take them!

Yeah, I am Instant Messaging one of them now.
They said that they aren't registered.
Evidently in Oklahoma you have to be registered 24 days before an election...
I'll take them with me to volunteer for Largent.

I have friends who say the same thing. They always have a different excuse.

I rag them every chance I get, especially when I hear them bitching about the government or some new law. I tell them that they don't have the right to bitch because they did not take the time to register and vote.

It works sometimes and really ticks them off.
