I also know of Russian immigrants....very very kind and appreciative of EVERYTHING in this country. Both husband and wife are scientists; I met them when working for a mfg. corp. working with polymers.

Prayers for the forces going in and for the hostages' safetyDitto.
Also, a prayer that Muslims everywhere will see that God does not require violence as a demonstration of love for Him.
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul, all thy mind and all thy strength. And thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self.

I wonder what the mood of the Russian people are. They've been dealing with these people and war and death for a good number of years now. Will this be Russias vietnam?

I find this quite unbelievable....virtually no coverage on radio...they are still discussing sniper.....why the blackout of news coverage? I don't get it.

Negotiating gives the strike force time to organize and plan their mission. Pray for all the innocents. Death to the killers.
To: Jasonconley
Prayers for them. This is awful.
I have read, here and there, that preparations are being made for an attack - security forces from several countries are there. British and Spanish special services(who have a lot of experience with explosives, because of the IRA and ETA) are among them - I don't know who else is involved, possibly the Israelis, but without publicity.
Prayers for all of the security forces, too.

These Muslim terrorists perhaps might not fear death, but I'm quite sure they fear torture. If at all possible, they should be captured alive and tortured endlessly (with videos of the 'sessions' being sent back to Chechnya). Terrorism would be significantly curtailed if this sort of action were taken, imo. Death is easy (especially if one has convinced oneself of the 72 virgin myth). Pain is not.

Even if they have a different religion. Without qualification. What a concept! So uh - where's the koran on this concept I wonder.

To tell you the truth, I think it has more to do with a sense of nationalism that religion. Religion is just one of the things that ties Chechens together.
