Well, now Fox is saying the FBI did tip off the press.

And now Brian Wilson has said they are looking for a second suspect in another part of the country. (I'm betting it's near another base.)

The sniper wanted the police to deposit 10 million dollars into an account. They could not because the account was from a stolen credit card.

As for why they didn't announce it sooner, frankly, I thought that the two guys at the phone booth were the key. They sort of quietly disappeared, but it wouldn't suprise me if they actually had been sent but the sniper (or the organization that sent him out). If so, this was a really smooth operation - detecting them, that is.

At one point, somebody on my tv said string of suspects in conjunction with search warrants all over the country. It doesn't sound like much standing alone to say "string of suspects". Somebody ratted out MORE THAN ONE POTENTIAL SUSPECT.
