I've been reading that a lot of the population of Chiapas province in the south of Mexico (the turf of Subcomandante Marcos) has converted to Islam. I think the population of that province is mostly Indian (Mayan, I think).

Shep is now confirming from AP that a Ft. Lewis soldier is the subject of the investigation and that Ft. Lewis confirms FBI has asked for their cooperation. Like I said earlier, they've got a name and a photograph.

Just FYI, the Spanish Basque terrorist org. ETA has a major presence in Mexico, and their "chief" (cabecilla) for Mexico converted to Islam a while ago. Muslim fundamentalists have recruited heavily among the Mexican Indians of Chiapas. A number or the Muslims were recently expelled by the Mexican government for immigration violations.
