EVEN TOM, DICK & TERRY SHOULD KNOW YOU CAN’T PROPOSE MORE SPENDING; OPPOSE DEFICITS = RAISE TAXES

EVEN TOM, DICK AND TERRY SHOULD KNOW YOU CAN’T PROPOSE MORE SPENDING AND OPPOSE DEFICITS WITHOUT RAISING TAXES!

The Democrats Want To Spend More To Help The Economy, And They Say They Oppose Higher Budget Deficits. But The Only Way They Can Have Their Cake And Eat It Too Is If They Raise Your Taxes To Pay For It.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

DEMS PROPOSE INCREASED SPENDING AS AN ECONOMIC CURE . . .

House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-MO) Proposed Over $200 Billion In New Spending As Part Of An “Economic Plan.” “I believe the nation would benefit from immediate targeted assistance – a $125 billion stimulus – in vital areas. In addition, I support short-term tax cuts of $75 billion to help working families and encourage company investment in the near term. . . . These spending and tax cut stimulus measures together would amount to $200 billion to help bring economic growth right away.”
(Representative Dick Gephardt, “A Plan For Promoting Economic Growth,” Remarks To The Economic Policy Institute, October 15, 2002)

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle’s (D-SD) “Economic Plan” Calls For More And More New Spending. “First we should extend unemployment insurance. . . . We should be able to agree that it is the right approach . . . . Second, we should provide immediate fiscal relief for states. Right now states are facing severe budget shortfalls . . . . Third, we need to increase the minimum wage.” But all three of these proposals will increase government spending significantly and will not help the economy recover.
(Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, October 15, 2002)

. . . WHILE SAYING THEY OPPOSE DEFICIT SPENDING . . .

In An Economic Speech, Gephardt Attacked “Growing Budget Deficits,” But Called For More Government Spending. “For the last two years the administration . . . pa[id] no attention to growing budget deficits. . . . We had record surpluses of $236 billion under President Clinton that have been turned almost overnight into deficits of $165 billion under President Bush.” Gephardt then proposed over $200 billion in spending initiatives. To address both problems, he will have to return to his old tax-and-spend ways.
(Representative Dick Gephardt, “A Plan For Promoting Economic Growth,” Remarks To The Economic Policy Institute, October 15, 2002)

Daschle Said The $400 Billion Deficit Has Caused A “Tragic, Deplorable, Abysmal” Economic Situation. “[O]ne reason we have seen the dramatic turn . . . in the economy . . . is the unprecedented reversal in the federal government’s fiscal picture. . . . [T]he surplus projection becomes a $400 billion deficit. What does that do to economic confidence? What does that do to market capitalization? What does that do to long-term projections? To long-term interest rates? What does that do to the overall psychology in the economy, to see this precipitous a decline? . . . What a tragic, deplorable, abysmal set of circumstances for us to find ourselves in as we close out this session of Congress.”
(Senator Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, September 18, 2002)

. . . WHICH LEAVES THEM NO OPTION BUT TO RAISE YOUR TAXES!

The Only Reason Daschle Gave For Not Freezing The President’s Tax Cut Is That The President Would Veto Such A Bill. NBC’s Tim Russert: “If you feel so seriously about it, Senator, why not postpone the tax cut, freeze it and not let it take place?” Daschle: “Because the President has said he’d veto something like that. There’s no way that that will become law. It would be a futile effort in part because the administration is so opposed to it.”
(NBC’s “Meet The Press,” October 6, 2002)

Gephardt Said The Tax Cuts Are “Bad And Not Working.” In a floor speech, Gephardt said the 1993 Clinton/Gore tax increases were responsible for “record economic prosperity.” He then attacked President Bush’s tax cuts, saying Republicans think, “if it’s bad and not working, let’s make it permanent. Let’s rigidly, tenaciously hold on to what’s not working so that it can continue to not work.”
(Representative Dick Gephardt, Congressional Record, October 1, 2002)

Gephardt Thinks It Would Be A “Mistake” To Say What The Democrats Are Planning Until They Meet With The President. “I think we make a mistake if we announce ahead of such a possible meeting what are our bottom lines or what we think ought to be done. I don’t know yet what all the right things that we can come up with to improve this economy. . . . We need a different kind of meeting to come up with a new policy that will move us in the right direction.”
(CNN’s “Inside Politics,” August 13, 2002)

Tony Snow creamed Dasshole on FOX Sunday a week ago. Dasshole was complaining about Bush's tax cut, so Tony asked him if he wanted to raise taxes. Of course, little Tommy said no. So, Snow said, "I guess, if you don't want to raise them and you're complaining about Bush lowering them, that the tax rate is just perfect."

Of course, the obstructionist-in-chief hemmed and hawed about taxes and rates and stuff, but Tony had made his point perfectly.

Bump! God help us if the RATS keep the Senate. I was just on another thread where someone in Arkansas is not going to vote for Senator Hutchinson because he got a divorce. Lord, I hope people wake up by Nov 5th! Some people just can't or won't think things though!!!

I've been doing battle with the 'if I can't have Bob Smith I'll vote for Jean Shaheen' people. All I can figure is they don't understand what's at stake.

A Democrat will vote for Dick Gephardt as Speaker, and Tom Daschle as Majority Leader. A Democrat will not confirm GWB's judges. A Democrat will raise taxes.

Republicans don't have to put dead people on the ballot, nor bribe with cigarettes, nor register pets as voters.

Tom, Tom, Tom. . . .

. . . .what's tragic, deplorable and abysmal is the trillion-dollar-bite Osama took out of us on 9/11--

And, Tom, your traitor-rapist-42 could have had Osama for a song from Sudan in 1998--

But traitor-rapist-42 was too busy committing perjury and wasting hundreds of cruise missiles over a thong.

So, Tom, the best thing you can do is get out of the way of the rebounding Dow, the growth rate, the housing and auto boom.

Quit goading your dockworkers to sabotage our economy,

Quit telling your bums to stay home and suck unemployment,

Quit gouging businessmen for unskilled labor by inflating the minimum wage--

Tom, don't just put a sock in it--put your other foot in it, too.
