"Work as if everything depends on you; pray as if everything depends on God."
The Iraq debate is over. Democrats who are up for reelection in close Senate races voted for the Iraq resolution with the exception of Paul Wellstone (D-WI). Now with over three weeks left, they are going to hit hard on the economy, social security, negative attack ads, etc.
Anyone who can, send a credit card contribution online to one, some or all of the close Senate races listed here. Please mail a check now if you can't donate online. Even small amounts when combined with other FReepers can make a lot of difference.

New Jersey: Doug Forrester (bio: former assistant state treasurer, now small businessman and university instructor) was running against Senator Robert Torricelli, but (since the NJ Supreme Court fix is in to reprint the ballots) is now running against the Democrat "Mafia" mascot, 78 year old, "have checkbook, will travel", former Senator Lautenberg.

New Hampshire: U.S. Representative John Sununu, son of former Governor, defeated current Senator Bob Smith in the September 10th primary and faces current Democrat governor, Jean Shaneen, in the general election for Senator. Sununu has less than two months to knit the party back together for the general election to retain the seat against a tough opponent, who probably would have defeated Smith.

Arkansas: Senator Tim Hutchinson challenged strongly by state attorney general Mark Pryor. Sen. Hutchinson, a former Baptist minister, is in trouble for reelection because of his divorce and remarriage after winning the Senate seat in 1996 on a platform of family values. He won his primary by 70% against another Christian conservative so the voters may be starting to forgive him. Without help, this is our most likely loss.

This is going to be the most vicious three weeks you have ever seen. And we need to be in the fight. The appeals court and the Supreme Court hang in the balance.
Please FReepers, bump this thread so that those who can donate time or money can link to the campaigns that need their help.
Good info, good post. You might want to check out TakeBackCongress.org, where a lot of this information is stored and updated regularly.
For those interested, this site also has a lot of practical suggestions about how you can help in this election. So act today. Good intentions don't win elections. Actions do.
I'm in Colorado. Strickland's ads are already vicious. But I suspect they will get worse.

Thanks a lot. Tell your conservative friends about TakeBackCongress.Org. In fact, if you would like, I could send the HTML code for the FR ads I have been posting. . . you could help me post the ads. . . hint hint :)
The project has been in development since before FRIVA in Las Vegas. PhiKapMom, Jim Robinson, and Diotima have all been very helpful and have given the project much support.
The next three weeks are it. Voter turnout is everything. We have to have a record off-year turnout to offset the coming vote fraud in the close states.
Bump!
Be funny if Bush pulls off a coup in Iraq now without firing a shot. At least I am praying for such a miracle.
I love your enthusiasm! Keep up the rally!
Alexander Calls Goose on Walters' Childish Duck Count, Democrat Henry Real Dodger
Oklahoma City - Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Chad Alexander today issued the following statement regarding the antics of the Democrat candidates for U.S. Senate and Governor:
"David Walters' childish duck count, accusing Inhofe of dodging debates is completely preposterous. The accusation of game-playing should be thrown only to Daschle and the Democrat Senate for their relentless arguing against the Homeland Security bill and the war with Iraq. If these items weren't being held up in the Senate, Inhofe would be able to come home and campaign.
Senator Inhofe will be participating in three debates with Walters before November 5th. The first two debates will be held on Monday, October 21st, with a radio debate hosted by the downtown Kiwanis and KRMG radio scheduled for 12:00 noon in Tulsa and a televised debate hosted by KFOR TV in Oklahoma City at 6:30pm that evening. A third debate, hosted by KJRH TV, KFAQ radio, and the Tulsa World, is schedule for Wednesday, October 23rd.
Because the Senate is currently in session and will possibly be in session as late as the end of October, time restraints have limited Senator Inhofe's campaign time in Oklahoma.
But, since Walters and the Democrat party want to complain about attendance, they should look first at their gubernatorial candidate. Brad Henry has missed seven of the last 13 candidate forums. Henry should start showing up at forums -- we wouldn't want his attendance as a candidate to be as bad as his attendance record in the state Senate.
Jay Parmley is being a hypocrite when accusing Inhofe of not agreeing to debates when his own gubernatorial candidate has not been attending forums. Unlike Sen. Inhofe, Brad Henry has no reason to not be at these debates because the Oklahoma Legislature is not in session. Is Henry scared, or running from something? Where are his priorities?
The Democrat Party should look first at its own candidates before accusing Inhofe of 'ducking.' Inhofe should be credited for prioritizing his duties as our Senator before his duties as a candidate. While David Walters has a life-size duck costume attending his appearances, Senator Inhofe is participating in the debate on Homeland Security and the potential war with Iraq. Consider the source."
