I've always thought the sniper was a terrorist. The only reason I can think of that they aren't screaming that info. is to prevent vigilanties from attacking innocent people on the east coast. After 9/11 some morons were out shooting people of Indian (India) descent etc.

I think there is a fair chance that you are right - the terrorists have a variety of plans in store for us.

Why isn't the media even thinking about the Islamic terrorism angle? Because Islam is a religion of peace, you dummy. </sarcasm>
To: LSUfan
Interesting. And what about the 4-6 ME terrorists in the quarry practicing rifle shooting around the start of this. Was that an URBAN MYTH???

From another thread but relevant here, too.
I still say islami. With discipline; possibly some military or camp training. He did not shoot over the weekend. Disciplined enough to hold off. Takes one shot and moves one; regardless whether its fatal or not.
Why? New statements from Jihadis recently; attacks in Kuwait and on a tanker.
Threats against the US economy; numerous attacks at gas stations; one of the most mundane things people do.
Nailing the local economy in the area.
Perhaps two teams; i think the white truck is a red herring. Shoots from one vehicle and then moves into another.
Could be a white muslim.

An excellent post.
I know NOTHING about weaponry, training, etc.
This increased my understanding by two full orders of magnitude.
Everything fits except the tarot card.

You laid out a credible argument. I just want them to get the
b@stard(s) whatever the motivation for this is.

The only problem I have with the ME terrorist thing is the fact that all of these shootings are in one area.
If I were a terrorist, I would terrorize a wide area. A few killings in Md, then move on to another urban area. AQ has the funds to move them around the country.
If it is an unfunded terrorist, he has to stay in the Md. area. No money.

"
Marines qualify out to the 500 yard line with the M16A2. That is what training will do. I qualified expert and am still an avid shooter today. I shoot a heavy barrel AR15A2 in 5.56mm and a National Match M1A in 7.62 NATO. I am NOT at all confident that I could get a head shot on a moving target at 150 meters."
Forgive me but dont we qual out to 600 yards?
Anyway I agree this isnt some ameteur. He knows what he is doing. Also I think it is 10 shots....10 hits in the black....resulting in 7 kills.
This guy is a shooter. I dont think he is an former Marine however [not implying you do], his shots would be from greater distances and ten shots would've resulted in more than 7 kills.
I think there needs to be a complete lockdown, the next time this guy squeezes the trigger. Drench the entire DC metro area with law enforcement. Every Avenue of approach needs to be sealed as quickly as possible after the next encounter.
I am not gonna be shocked if it ends up being some follower of Mohammed. Not at all. As a matter of fact...I am also leaning in that direction.

I heard some professor of criminology named Fox say today on The Don Wade and Roma Show on WLS-AM in Chicago that the "Dear police" on the tarot card indicated that the shooter held the police in respect! Ha ha ha.

Excuse me, but I'd like to see the list of serial killing TEAMS in American history! Yeah, that pretty much blows their profile.
To: LSUfan
Also note that the sniper is hitting all the gas stations in the area (multiple different store names) and the recent al qaeda bombing of a tanker.
Anyone with a few brain cells working should see how this may be islamic. There's still a chance that it's a home grown nut, but I really doubt it.

The longer this goes on, the more likely it is an enemy action or a provocative action rather than a lone nut or two. If it also starts up in other cities, then there won't be much doubt. The only part missing from the usual terrorist incident is no one has claimed the deeds. But it was a while before WTC911 was claimed, and even then it wasn't and still hasn't been claimed openly.
